I have been bikeless for a few months and looking to get back into it.

A friend of a friend is selling his RGV150 with 20 odd thousand k's.

Should i get it or go for an old 4 stroke 250?

I am mildly capable at doing matainance things but i havnt ridden in a while so i will kinda be learning to ride again....

I have heard various opinions about these bikes and to steer clear of 2 stokes.

What do you guys think?

Cheers

2 strokes aren't generally the best learner bike but 250 4's would have alot more guts than the RGV 150, knew someone with one of them, it had problems if that helps :D

The RGV150 was somewhat the Orphan Annie of the two smoker world. A completely different bike to the (much more desireable) RG150. 20000km is about the poiunt where it MIGHT start to need a bit of coin spent on it.

(oddly the V doesn't mean a V twin - there's no correlation at all with the RGV250)

Go for a 2 stroke....but not an RGV150 , its an aircooled sack with a drum brake on the rear and spoked wheels .It looks like Suzuki designed it in 5 mins using whatever shite they had left over from the parts bin. It will get ya from A-B though. :scooter:
