England (rugby) plays Ireland at Croke Park in Dublin this weekend.

The match has historical significance because Croke Park is the scene of an incident in 1921 when British soldiers drove into the ground and fired on the players and crowd attending a Gaelic football match - killing 14.

The attack was apparenty in reprisal for an earlier incident when the IRA killed 16 members of the (then) British administration.

The Irish vowed that an event involving the English would never be held at Croke Park, but the normal rugby stadium in Dublin (Landsdowne Road) is closed for redevelopment.
