Hey folks,

Pete here, moved up from Palmy in January and have only just found the site
Working out at the Air Force Base in Whenuapai, and I'm wondering who else on the site is either in the military or the nearby area.

Have been along to a few ATNR and AWNR rides, keen to do some more with folks in the area.

Pete

Cheers swoop, although we're all wannabe's in the Royal New Zealand Coast Guard. No F-14's for us or the U.S anymore, but we are getting a couple of pig (F-111) visitors for the open day on Sat!

What are the rides like, I don't feel like I'd keep up, so many bikes with heaps more power that seem to go out,

Happy as larry doing a hundy and have ridden off and on for ages and cycled 350+ k's a week for years (not in the last year tho, what a lazy bastard) which helps tons with bike awareness and body position etc I recon. It's the getting to 100 that takes the time on these. I have chewed through my brake pads to the point where I want to swap them before any fun riding, might have to pop out at lunch and grab some and see you guys tomorrow. If not the next thur night ride for sure.

Thanks for the welcome guys,

I'm now semi-regular on the ATNR from Shell Westgate, probably once a fortnight. Missed out on the Motorsport AGM at the base, but as soon as I've got a spare hour or two I'll hit them up for wednesday afternoons sports.....

I'm not so sure the runway would be the best thing to ride on.. Its falling to bits and made up of hexagonal concrete blocks. Some of the taxiways could do though.:whocares:

CIS tech out at whenuapai. with the Motorsports club, doesnt matter about missing the agm. I was working at the commcen for the last year and so would always end up missing out on agm's. Just turn up at the next event that they have and feel free to become a member then. Iv gone to a few of the car events that they have out at whenuapai. Usually have a bbq etc aftwards too. Just working on getting my bike license now so will start to turn up to a few more events, especially now that Im no longer doing shift work.

This is gonna get really confusing.

so we've got ylwduc(5), Delerium(CIS) , Vagrant(40) and Pancakes(?). If you guys are keen for a ride at some stage then I guess the best way is to flick me an email at work. K1004488 should do the trick.

Probably won't make tomorrows ATNR due 'family' dinner  But the rides out our way are pretty good Pancake. Mix it up with both the wednesday and thursday night rides and you'll be :scooter: in no time
