I remember seeing a doco about the show years ago... F.A.B just means fab was a slang or saying in the sixties when the orginal puppet show was made.

The characters use the radio sign-off "F.A.B." rather than "Roger" or "Over and out". Anderson was often asked what F.A.B. stood for, but stated it in fact simply stood for "fab" (short for "fabulous"), a 1960s catchphrase. During radio broadcasts it also stood for Fully Acknowleged Broadcast.

look, and ye shall findThanks. My "search" didn't work as well.
Saw "FOB" on a number plate, with "Freight On Broad" on the plate frame. Triggered "Thunderbird" memories, but my old grey matter couldn't remember if it was "FAB" or "FOB". Ya know how silly little things can bug ya:msn-wink: LOL.

I love Thunderbirds! I know all the episodes off by heart, so now I have to get really really wasted when I watch them, so they all seem new and surprising.
Here's a trailer for a proposed new series that never got made... looks awesome!

And the five Tracy boys are...
Alan, Virgil, Scott, John, Gordon (..is a Moron)

And their respective Thunderbirds are...
1 = Scott
2 = Virgil
3 = Alan
4 = Gordon (or whatever resuce vehicle they're using this week)
5 = John (or one of the others when he's on hoiliday on Earth)
FAB 1 = Parker/Penelope

Lady Penelope's driver is...
"Nosey" Parker

The housekeeper is...
Can't recall, but "The Hood" is his brother!!

And his daughter is...
Tintin

Brains' real name is...If Claudia Schiffer married him, her name would be Claudia Schiffer-Brains!!

BTW, A mate of mine owns the plate "FAB001" with the msg "5-4-3-2-1 Thunderbirds are Go!" on it. Wonder how much that would be worth in the collectors market?

Brains used the name Mr HACKENBACKER in one of the episodes I think the one with the super airliner!
I must admit their inventions were pretty out there none of them would've had any real chance of flying in the real world but hey Imagination is a great gift!!!!

The house keepers name is KERANO and he was the HOODs twin and the hood used his psychokinetic powers to fuck him up and make him do his bidding!!!!!

Is it wrong to lust for a puppet?

Depends what you mean by "puppet". Is it wrong to stick your hand up a girl's skirt and make her lips move? Funny thing, ventriloquism...

Not so! Thunderbird 2 is based on lifting body studies carried out by the Germans during WWII. NASA published a document stating that not only was TB2 a workable design, the modular cargo bays influenced the design of the Shuttle payloads.

So there!

Did anyone see "Thunderbirds are go" the British stage show, which came to Auckland in the early nineties? It was effin brilliant, and I'm a nazi purist Thunderbirds fan from way back.

The actors moved like puppets and had islands and scenery on their heads as required. Sounds dreadful but was so screamingly funny the whole audience was just about collectively wetting themselves.

They even had Aqua Marina.

I went three times. . .

With my Thunderbird it's F.A.B. - Fuel-up Again, Bugger!!
