He means Italian Benellis crashe, not Chinese ones.
Was Kerry in business selling Benellis in the early '80s?

In Melbourne in 1980 we had one sitting on the hearth in the living room,it was brand new, never run.I'll try and find a photo of it tonight.

1981 Benelli 254 quattro , slender 250/4cyl  pretty rare bike, just like the Benelli 900sei 6cyl.

It was one of the bikes of the De Tomasso era. There was (I think) a 350 and a 400 Moto Guzzi version that looked a lot nicer but they all looked a LOT like a SOHC Honda but didn't run as nice or as long (ah hem)
Used to be a lot of low mileage examples about (never a good sign) but then a few years back a clever yank made a really nice looking classic racer replica out of one to race in some kind of BEARS event and suddenly.. pfffttt.. all gone...

Gee there are a few great comments and stories coming out! ...you recon that one in Melbourne might be still on the hearth ;-) Hope they dust it off now and then!
Im not really interested in values I just like Italian engineering and small bikes. Had a Guzzi V40 Capri for a while wasnt a brilliant bike but went ok Maybe consider a Benelli 250 2C but i think the little four pot 254 would be my pick for a sweet runner with some clever engineering!
Have a serious fetixh for 2 strokers varous Yamaha, suzuki and one weird honda 3 cylinder hehe. Got the KR 250 because I always wanted one my part with it if a nice 254 comes past my gate.
Thanks guys keep looking, and if that one thats lurking comes up for sale or a good pry bar is available let me know.
Cheers

Well it's not on the fireplace, but I remember it was there.Anyway,it's obviously inside a house, too valuable to put in the garage.
Thought I'd put in some other photos of the same time I found.I didn't get to ride the MV Augusta 750,but I did get to go pillion as you can see.I did go for a good ride on the 350 twin though,it had only 275 km on the clock, and I could of bought it for $1000.

Awsome Motu! The owner/s of these bikes certainly had good taste MV Augusta 350 stroker would be a rare beast indeed, certainly the 750 is extremely collectable and very unique. Would love to own that 254 baby brother to the MV ;-).
I must confess my madness to being addicted to italian machinery I also have a collection of Italian cars just needs a lotto win to keep them all on the road!
Thanks for taking the time to put the pics up im very impressed with the responce this thread has got so far.....
Cheers

The MV Augusta 350 was a 4 stroke, just a smooth looking motor....no air cleaners, just velocity stacks.A thousand bucks....sometimes I could kick myself all the way to hell.....
