Well, it finally happened.

Today on my way to work.

Going around a lovely bend in a 70 kph zone.

MY FIRST FOOT SCRAPE! :scooter:

My right boot kissed the earth and I went WOO WOO!

Not a bad way to start the day...now let's see if I can do it again tomorrow!

ha! ha! My wife had her first (solo) foot scrape on the weekend after 30 years riding: it scared the crap outta her. Not something she's keen to repeat.

Don't get too cocky now. You'll be needing a set of titanium sliders soon, or a bike with rear sets.

did you have your feet on the pegs at the time? Well done.

Now when your in the mood for scraping, move you feet back so the balls, yes you have them too, of you feet and not the arch is on the peg. This will give you more room, and more feeling of whats happening. Also helps get you in the zone. Going round corners with my arch's on the pegs feels odd to me now, kind of like driving without a seatbelt on.

Awesome... I'd never done that in the year I was on the CBX. Changed to the CB last week after getting my full and 2 days later, going around the bend at the top of the taka's (the big right hand sweeper that tightens up, at the top of the Hutt side), I did exactly the same. Foot touched. After the initial 'what the f....', the elation took over. Managed to do the same on a left turn coming back up from Featherstone the same day.
Don't you just love that feeling...
I've also done what Jim suggests. Move the balls of the feet onto the pegs and find I'm much more confortable when cornering.

Apert(*&*(&^$ Ha*(&(*&$ AWESOME!! Although I now worry about you on the 10th. Will you be leading the pack doing wheelies??

Hawkeye - yeah I know about you and the foot scraping - was that what you were trying to do on the straits from Dannevirke?! Yeah, I know, I have totally lost the plot! Mel and I stopped because our butts were sore.....she mentioned we were weak and she was right *L*

Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to replicate my feat today, I blame the slow van that was in front of me, messing up my corner approach. Having said that, I'm not at all sure how I got the foot scrape yesterday - crossed fingers it will happen again (without the rest of me following the foot to the road!)...

Ha! After riding from Welly to Dannevirke and then heading back, the legs had been bent for most of the day. Just needed to stretch them. The butt was fine, just the knees giving me jip. I had a good ride back to Welly after leaving you two. Never stopped and didn't hang around either. Saw a few at the top of the hill gassing but couldn't be bothered to stop. I had been on the bike since 6.00am

I'd be a bit worried if my balls were on the pegs, mate. Anyway, now managing foot scrapes on Poorbastard's zxr250. But mainly 'cause I don't have pants with sliders at the mo, so I'm stuck with just leaning. Also if I managed to scrape the pegs on the zxr, I'd probably start being afraid of myself
