Help.

Some MOFO stole my beloved RG from my work carpark in Eden Tce Auckland today, the 27th of feb 07 Don't know why they wanted it so bad, I park it next to an R1!. WTF!

It is black and silver, all original paintwork apart from a couple of sbs brake stickers reg plate 67TYA.

It's not just some old bike to me. I have owned it from new, it was the first new thing bought after paying off my student loan and getting my first proper job. Been riding it to work for almost nine years and had heaps of fun trips on it. I have looked after it well over the years and some low life piece of sh#t has taken it.

Whoever took it will burn in hell:angry:

Thanks for your support. The talk of thieves in pain is cheering me up.

BTW. It had 2 near new Dunlop TT900 tyres on it, and sprockets and chain are still new enough that they are still pretty clean.

I am guessing the only reason someone would go to this much trouble is to get parts for their 150 Street Stocker. A class which is supposed to be a cheap way of going racing, I guess it's still not cheap enough for some people.

An update on this.

I have video showing a white van (probably a Hyndai) with sign writing on it and roof racks involved in the theft of my Bike. I can see him riding off on it

Also I have the exact time, 1140 am on Tuesday the 27th of Feb.

Once again if anyone can help that would be great.

Pictures in the best quality you can provide?

yeah 2cycle if you can some way find out what the sign writing says, or get the video in to computer file, someone here should be able to help find the van

Bummer Mate

- thats as low as you can go I reckon - I've lost a bike that way (GT750 Suzy), and it still riles me. Good community here tho, be great if one of us spots it, chin up.

Sounds like a beauty too - how many k's in 9 years?

What is it about some jerks that makes them think that they deserve to get for free what you worked your arse off to get?? Hope you get some justice, legal or otherwise.

OK, so I have found out who was in the van and it seems they have an alibi so far.

So all that leaves me with is some guy who comes in to the garage and seven minutes later rides away on my bike.

Extra gutting as I only had third party insurance and had just spent a fair bit of cash on it for new tires, chain, sprockets, fork seals. Yep she is a beauty about 37K's, run on synthetic since run in and always garaged.

I'll see if I can get a pic.

Hans
28th February 2007, 10:23
There is hope for you yet, mate. I reckon that the bike will be spotted sooner or later by someone from KB. If the unthinkable happens and parts show up on tardme, everyone will also notice.

It may not turn up this far south, but I'll keep an eye out for it. I keep a list of stolen bikes here in the shop, (any I'm told about) and I keep a good eye out when I'm riding too.

Hope you get your bike back in 1 piece mate, if you can post a piccie of the offender leaving it might help.
Some of the great KB folks have got access to good imaging technology and may be able to enhance it a bit.
I presune the coppers have been informed?
Good luck

Uh, you *have* involved the police in this haven't you?

Yes the police are involved but I am a little impatient. As my bike may be in many pieces by now. I only found out who was in the van by chance, I saw another van from the same company out there this morning.

Then that company wont be too impressed with hiring a thief......
or one of their employers lending out the work vehicle to a thief......

So they (the company managers/owners) be able to help to track down the driver/thief.

I got the guy's phone number and talked to him, he seems to have a legitimate reason for being there and it was just coincidence that he was at the garage the same time as the thief, he said he didn't notice the bikes in the garage. The van drove away shortly before the bike so maybe the thief hid when this van guy turned up and waited for him to leave.

Check with your insurance co the last time i insured for 3rd party it also covered fire and theft
You never know

Cool, But I would still be doublechecking with the company to make sure he was really meant to be there.

You are taking his word for it.

Good luck in finding your baby....... I too will also keep an eye out for it.
If it ever turns up, do let us all know.... cheers.

Oh 3rd party should cover you for fire and theft.

Oh 3rd party should cover you for fire and theft.

Depends who you are with, had 3rd party with my ZX7R and it didn't cover getting stolen (they wouldn't unless it was full cover).

Sorry about your loss dude, fingers crossed it comes back!!

Dude, I would have been totally gutted if someone had nicked my RG.
Being ex-RG myself I spot them everywhere - 5 park around the city centre. I have never seen one in your colour scheme before (they are all purple/black or red/white) and will have an inspection of any I see that are. Hopefully because its rare it'll turn up soon.
I traverse Auckland everyday twice so will keep 'em peeled.

I would also look at any "matte black" etc. painted bikes. Also dude, it might help your cause, if you posted engine and frame numbers. I'm coming up to Auckland tomorrow, so I'll keep my eyes peeled as well.

in the condition it was in mate i would say they were probably being careful with it so probably just a mangled ignition, if you buy an alarm i will be happy to install it for you for free,

cycle treads have a paging alarm system which they do for 150 dunno if it will work in your work buil;ding though ( the paging function) but it might depends if carpark basement etc i would say, but still is going to alert people to the bike and as i said prior definately get a disc lock

fuckn luckly bastard, you might want to invest in a disc lock or some other security device.

what they all said ^^
The bike looks mint. That could be why they decided to off with it. Hope you get it back in one piece.

28th February 2007, 21:51
simple fact is police are there for a reason and we bitch and moan when we get tickets, but in reality they are just doing thier job, the laws are there and need to be put into place,

so as much as we hate getting pulled over and paying roadside tax, they are there to help us out and this is a prime example

good on the cops i say

Okay so I picked up my bike today, it doesn't seem to bad except the whole ignition/steering lock mechanism is gone and the fuel cap mechanism is broken, my number plate, WOF, Reg and VIN plates are gone also. Other than that it all seems fine. I still don't know yet exactly what happened, how it was located etc, but for now I'm just happy to have it back.

So I am now after a couple of parts, I think they are interchangeable with a few Suzuki models. I will have to phone around a bit.

A huge relief to have it back and it is now tucked away safely at home :)
