Just thought I would say Hi! I am learning to ride with my husband fjones, and just got my "L" on Feb 19th. Thank you to crashe for the lesson yesterday, it was much appreciated, I feel much more comfortable on the bike now.
Hope to have some longer routes planned for this weekend coming up, and venture out on the motorway soon! Yikes.

venture out on the motorway soon! Yikes.
Motorway is easy, all the traffic is moving in the same direction, its just that sometimes, theres alot of them (cars) and its very unlikely to have a head on !.....:innocent:
Headlight on high, pick a lane and stick to it until you need to get off, give yourself heaps of time to make the lane change, keep checking your mirrors, GN's for some reason can be hard for car divers to see, my wife found that out about a year ago (car merging)...anyway, good luck with it all and enjoy the bike....:scooter:

Maha man,
yes, all in the same direction, that's what scares me. People in large groups tend to do stupid things....

Well, what can I say.....
Scorpygirl said she was ready to go on the motorway...... after only tootling around the suburbs and gaining confidence.....
I tell her to take it easy and to ease up to 70km..... and to try to go past that speed....... if not happy to stick to 70kph....... I wanted her to push the boundary a little.....:scooter:
So off we go...... get onto the motorway........ :scooter:
and........
Off she goes...... at FULL speed......... 100kph and plus....... !!!!!
There was no stopping her on the motorway.......
I got a shock....... there I was chasing her.......
I was her mentor and tail end charlie to protect her butt from drivers etc...:dodge:
This is the person who on Dec 28 was rather scared of getting on her bike to ride.... within a month, she is riding everywhere, to work everyday..... and rides out in the country.... she overcame some shocking nerves.... and was hooning it down the motorway...

Crashe, after our ride the other day, we adjusted my right brake so that it was closer to the throttle. It was so much better! I think it frustrates me that the bikes are brand new, and they obviously weren’t checked over before being sent out to us. I guess what can I expect for the price we paid for them. Fjones is ordering a maintenance manual, and we'll get the break fluid sorted out when that comes.

It shouldnt matter what price you paid for it. They are brand new bikes.
They should have been checked out before they even left the shop.....
They are assembled in the shop when they are taken out of the crate.
Good to hear that the brake lever is now in a better position for you....
it will make it a lot easier for you, when having to brake.
As to the brake fluid levels in both brand new bikes being at different levels...
shocked me..... your one was at the lowest level....... and Joe's just slightly higher...
You had only done 104kms and Joe 140kms at the time.

This is why i should sell the GN, and get a Ducati 1098. And to confuse Johnny Law, i'll put the GN250 emblem back on the Ducati.....
Noone will ever know.....
