Just saw a guy on a blue R1 or R6 - older model - FLY!!!! past on Harris Rd. --> Approx 4:40pm
Must have been closer to 100 miles an hour than 100 kmph.....60kmph zone.
Followed by a White/Orange cop car 2 seconds behind and a silver plain clothes car 5 seconds later.

Nope not Mark - he wouldn't, really he wouldn't.

Heard it on the radio just before I left work. Motorcyclist failed to stop for a red light (in front of a police car), police car gave chase and pursued down Harris Road and East Tamaki Road into Otara.
Rider finally gave up in Fergusson Road, Otara and was promptly arrested.
There were several police cars in the area so when one got stuck in traffic, another one was close by to keep the offender in sight. Just a shame the dog handler was a bit further away ....

One dog handler was very busy over in Glen Eden at around the same time as the police chase on the motorbike runner. Thats where the police helicopter was for some time as well.
So the police have been very busy this arvo.

Just a red light runner from what I heard. Rider has gone to a hell of a lot of trouble to try and avoid a $150.00 ticket although its quite possible he was disqualified or something along those lines.

Wasn't he a lucky smurf.
Well lucky the dog handler was busy.
Here is a question how well would the dog have been able to maul him if he had been in leathers????

I reckon the dog would bash him over pretty well (them police dogs are pretty impressive in action), but he (notice we are assuming a male) wouldn't have any scars to show off to his buddies.

Cripes ... turned a $150 red light runner into something more serious ... must have had a brain fart and decided to heap bad karma on?
I think the ecilops have better things to do than chasing someone around in rush hour, they're overworked and underfunded as it is! So does the bike get left by the side of the road with a yellow sticker while it's owner gets a free ride in the back of the car?

damnit... i swore i'd get away. Thought i'd detour through Otara in hope that the cop would smell a P-lab or tinny house but the luck was in his favour and i ran outta go juice. Court appearance on Friday. Anyone seen my engine lately?

I've got your engine in my Corolla. It's blowing a bit of smoke by the way and wont rev till 17,500rpm as seen on TV.

rofl, good point mate! I should've known it would be hard taking corners when your swingarm is 3m away from the frame... doesnt help when your valve head is on a shelf, the crankcase on a bench, and the rest of your engine sitting quietly in a bout 500 pieces in a cupboard.

And exactly what use is a dog handler when trying to catch a motorbike? Perhaps a better questions is exactly why would you need one when the man/woman in question just gave themselves up?

Dog handler - he's handy in controlling the dog - which is pretty handy at controlling a crazy loon who could be on a P rage.
You never know why people run - and you don't know who's doing the running until they are caught.
Despite how cool Ghostrider (not you N4CR - so shush it now) looks doing a runner most people aren't out to simply "make a DVD" (no Mark comments wanted either).

No some of the examples I've had explained to me I don't think this is tongue in cheek stuff. I hope it is. I have very close connections to people who work along them daily and it is naive to assume that the Police have not changed and are on a downhill slide in respectibility they are a reflection on the slide of everything else. Look at the three on trial at the moment, not a good look for the Police. Getting off thread tho. The point a simple bike doing a runner ,if you can simplify it like that. Plod feels the need for a bit of satisfaction because some one didn't respect his station in life.
Don't fancy being Tazered when I get old cos I'm deaf and didn't hear the policeman telling me to get out of the car NOW.

A real biker would find a way to make it run biarch.

Meh, Bikey Cop is human too...just a sense of humor...certainly not a bad thing. Mate of mine was running in a cage, hit 280kph too (Very worked S14, wont mention details as it is a wel known car) and when he got off the motorway from his run from the initial plod, he was smacked around a bit, handcuffed and chucked in a cell for the next 2 days till he was somewhat subdued.
Fact is, running is a pretty serious thing to do (in the cops eyes anyway...lets face, who likes someone to run away and outrun them!) so if ya cop it, wear it!
However, back in South Africa in the old days, my Grandad who raced and loved bikes put a police siren on his bike, would flick it on and go past the local cop shop, flick on the siren and stand on his tank as he went past the local constabulary. They would, without fail, chase him. However, they knew who he was, never caught him, but also never really treated it like it was too much of a misdemeanour.
Bit of a balance between the two situations would be good.

Question 1: Very handy when the runner ditches their vehicle and does another runner on foot.
Question 2: They don't always have the sense to give up.

Sorry guy's I wasn't making a personal attack at Bikey Cop, just at what's happened, there is not a lot of respect out there for the Boys in Blue anymore. Well not like there use to be 10 15 years ago maybe even back to the "Tour". If it seems like cop bashing its not intended to.

True true can't have them working for bugger all money and no pleasure. That just wouldn't be right.

yeah im fvckin cool bro, fvck the pigs i'll make a 300k motorway run dvd some time wheelies and **** go piss of some pigs and stuff liek that, runners are interesting it's you getting ****ed up the arze or some pig getting to file a report aboiut a bike that got away (they do it anyway if you cought or nowt), i choose them filing a report. $150 i'd run if it was an easy one and i knew the area although it's not demerits.. hmm. idont run reds either... sh1t if you get caught on an r6 you deserver it, if you get away on a zxr250 then an r6 is a piece of p1ss learn how to ride and run fvcktard whoever it was.
