probably a bike dissmantler(dunno how to spell it) to get parts. For lights, mirrors, indicators etc. That would probably be your best bet. If not I'm sure they can put you in the right direction.

Why would you want to?

The RMX250S, a road registerable version of the RMX (with lights, indicators, horn, etc) was sold in NZ a few years ago (late 90s?). It wasn't offered for very long - I guess they didn't sell. I was thinking of buying one but procrastinated too-long and by the time I decided to do it I couldn't find one.

I have kept my eye open for a used one to come-up ever since - to no avail.

I don't know whether the RMX (dirt only model) can be turned into an RMXS, but getting hold of the parts diagrams for both models would tell you the differences and what is involved in converting your bike. Even if you can convert it you still may have trouble getting it certified for road use since your model was never intended for the road.

In all honesty, I don't knwo if it would be worth it to have shitty handling and stuff.

I've always thought that you either have a dirtbike or a roadbike, you can't really get both in one cause its always half assed. That is totally my opinion though.

the wireing look would be the hard part, the rmx would also need a bigger generator which the rmxs had, their are a few of those rmxs around they were sold for 8g in the end, they never sold that well

major hassle dude youll need to get all the light and make eure they all have the right numbers etc on them on after market stuff before you get the vin done and again ther es the wiring once all that done youll need street tyres list gose on then you have some thing that handle like shit and needs the tyre changed to go off road spend the grand itll cost you at a minimu and get a cheap arse road bike that needs a bit of a clean up ( should have bought my gsxr 250 i was sellin all in parts now )

FlangmasterJ - the guy rides a 95 RMX, its in the process of a rebuild that he is struggling to get the money for, I hardly think that we is going to set it up as a motard bike. Sure if he did it would kick ass, but that Isn't what he was looking at (from what I read out of it).

Well just read this post and thought i would say i have a fully road legal rmx250 on a 93 registered as a 96 and the thing is a blast on the road i even have some aggresive knoblies on it and it handles pretty good just not in the wet.

Im in the process of stripping it for the second time as i rebuilt the top end while stripping the whole bike to get the frame zinc plated and powder coated, Only to take it out and the main bearing develops a flat spot causing it to seize. But after i have it rebuilt run in and the rego and wof updated its gonna be up for sale so if anyone is interested pm me.
