I've only had my new rs250 for a few days and I've already got a question to ask of you lot.

If you look at the adjusters ontop of the forks they are visibly different, now the manual that came with the bike states that the right adjuster is to adjust 'rebound' and the left adjuster is to adjust 'sping-loading'. How does this work? How can one side adjuster one setting for both forks and the other another setting for both forks?

I was always under the impression that each fork tube is isolated in it's adjustments and what one needs to do is make sure they are both set identically.

But the forks on the RS are somehow linked?

Oh and on a funny note I found the following in the manual:

"The RS 250 is made up of not edible parts. Never bite, suck, chew or swallow any part of the motorcycle for any reason" Wtf? When last did you try and eat your bike?

Cheers All.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention - 2 Strokes fucken rock!

One fork has an adjustable damper in it (no spring) and the other fork has a preload adjustable spring (no damper). Or something like that. It's a cheap way to get multiple adjustment in there. Both forks move up and down together (being linked together through the axle and restrained by the uppers), but one supplies the spring force (proportional to distance of suspension travel), the other the damping force (proportional to speed of suspension travel).

Cheers,
FM

Yeah that would make sense. Thanks for that.
