There used to be a Russian site called 'All the Brands' that had heaps of logos etc so you could give them to local sign place, Google for other artwork sites 'logos' or whatever. In Petone I used Fine Signs, but should be local people.

[edit]
oh no, it was logos. Hmm, no mello yello I can see, Consider painting the bike orange?

This was the site that Dave refers to...still active under name change. Best thing is, all the logos are vector-based eps...so very signie friendly.

www.brandsoftheworld.com. It's where I got most of the eps files for my bikes decals. Buy yourself a vinyl cutter off trademe for $1000 and go nuts.

[edit] beaten to it by him above.

...and 'drive' it with what program?

The software that comes with the cutter...

That might depend on the brand of cutter....I use a Roland and there is no 'software' for it - eg, the sign program I use incorporates the drivers for many makes/models of plotter (cutter) and is very expensive.

Creation models come with their own software, 25,000 different fonts, and are available brand new on trademe for $995. I've used one for the past 6 months, and other than teething problems (ie setting blade height etc) it's done the job very well.

Here's a link just for you. (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Business-farming-industry/Retail-hospitality/Signage/auction-90019568.htm)

(Whoops, forgot the shipping, which isn't cheap at $295, but it's a big package)

Thanks OAB - versatile looking machine. Never heard of them, but will keep in mind if my Roland ever shits itself (must happen eventually, it's used every day putting thru anything up to 20m of 610 vinyl, and is probably 15years old).

Craig at Attract Promotions (attract.promotions@gmail.com ) did the stickies on my bike for me. I downloaded a trial version of Coral Draw off the old net and came up with them myself(typical student tightarse approach).

Came out real good, and he gave me a great deal too, so thumbs up from me.

Are you still able to do graphics for people? I am after some chrome flame decals for my bike, but they have to be of a certain measurement to cover up the logo on my bike that is underneath the finish of the tank. I can provide pictures and measurements :Punk:

Edit-
After having a rather shitty time trying to apply graphics and in the end scrapping the whole thing and throwing them away, I decided I hate graphics.

I had problems with adhesive on the top side of the decals for starter. You could rub it off with soap water but you had to rub fucking hard and then it ended up on my tank. After more rubbing it, most came off but so did some of the decal edges.

The other problem I had was simply getting it on without it creasing. It was when one ended up with a giant creased line through it I chucked it all out.

Hi Dyers,

Just read about your issues with the graphic's.
We did advise you that chrome was exceptionally difficult to handle and didnt like bending around curves.

After reading your demise we would like to offer you the same graphic, at no charge, but in Silver metalic. This material is a more flexible and you should find it easier to work with.

Please PM us if you would like to take up the offer.

My frustration is no reflection of the work or quality. I simply couldn't get a clean job done on them and it fucked me off to no end.

What does the silver metallic look like?

Dyers.

Silver colour with a gentle metalic sparkle. Just look at any silver car, or something like Suzukis SV1000.

Cheers

Dyers,

Yes the silver would be similar, I can't say that it would be an exact match but very similar.

By the way Fallofalot and Granma2 are also jointly known as SHELRACING (just in case there was any confusion).

Cheers
Steve

I'll give the silver a go if you think there will be a noticable difference in ease of applying them.

Just thought I'd show what the decals look like. Haven't put them on my bike as my bike is in the shop getting some hand made custom bits done for it.
