Opononi Ride 24/25th March (overnight)

When: Weekend of 24/25 March 2007
Leaving: Speights Ale House, Albany :apint:
Meet: 10am
Depart: 10:30am
Returning: After Lunch on Sunday arrive Auckland around 5pm
Speed: All speeds welcome, personally I will be going slow when I should and quick when I want to.

Take care of you own bookings

Purpose of this ride is to spend some time with my family, who will be travelling by car, might go for a horse ride on Sunday morning might not, and of course go for an awesome ride (guilt free - cause they're coming)

Speed will be varied, it does not need to be a hurried ride cause we are staying over night. Hopefully if enough people are interested we can send out 2 groups (fast-med) (med-cruise) with seperate Pointers and Tail End Charlies. If not we will use pointers and just regroup at key intersections.

The ride to Opononi is on some some of the best roads you can imagine.

We'd LOVE to come but m'bod just won't be up to it....100% jealous as I miss the Norfland roads bigtime!!

IMO Sharkies is a great place to fuel on the way up to Opo which is required especially between Dargiville and through the Waipoua forest (:love:)
And as Dougy pointed out they have great food and atmosphere.

Now who let that secret out! Would love to be on this ride but will be in Whangarei the weekend before and finances/time just wont permit another trip the following weekend.

Ten days out from this ride, anymore takers?

Post here if you would prefer an earlier start, say 8:30 so that it can be a full day ride (there and back) for those of you who don't want to stay overnight.

Also I can offer two queensize airbeds friday night if anybody wants to join us from down south.

And finally for those thinking of staying overnight, there will be some space in the car with our partners for your overnight bag and sleeping bags etc to saving having to take it on your bike.

Hi Guys

Just a little prompt,

So far nobody else has indicated that they intend to meet us at Speights Ale House to join in this ride. I know this is not uncommon, but unless people have indicated at least an interest that they may be there, I will be leaving directly from home.

Also don't forget the early departure option that I have offered in case there is a group of riders that would prefer to go up and back on the Saturday, rather than stay overnight.
