Meh, I can do a burnout if I wanted, but just seems like a waste of a tyre that you could actually be riding on. Maybe if I was right down to the end of a tyre, but I usually replace before it's that far worn.

well when you drive to the place that changes your tyre smoke it up outside then walk it inside and say I need a new tyre.

Hey I could do that too!!. I always wear the sides off the tyres before the centre. Seems a waste to go down long straight roads just to wear the centres out. Why not burn them out. I see the pic it's a black X1. ( like one of mine ).
Go Buellie!!

cheers, unfortunately plenty of dribble and complaining in that thread, good advice as far as wrecking the tyre and creating flat spots tho....... but when you've got a budget import tyre on and got a nice pirelli in waiting... what better way to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new.

How do you do a burnout? My I used to be able to do them on my old tyre no worries but now on my new tyre my bike just shoots forward even with full front brake on and me leaning over the bars

beginners could also use dishwashing liquid, diesel, or oil. saves a bit on the tyre too. However I dont condone this sort of thing, tyres cost to much and are probably the most important part of your bike.
