At least I think so. I got a PM before xmas about a guy selling some RF parts - he had an accident and was breaking and selling what was left of his RF. So I duly contacted the guy (Igor... yes master...) and he told me of the bits he had...etc and wanted $400. "Hmmm" says I, "Not sure I want to spend that sort of dosh on bits I don't exactly need, just before xmas. I tell you what, if I get some cash in the New year I'll give you a bell."

Didn't think anymore of it 'til I had my accident... So I thinks to myself "I wonder...?" And I gave him a bell...
"Still got those bits?"
"Yeah, but I'm going overseas so I need to sell them."
"I'll tell ya what" I says "I'll take whatever you've got for $250."
"Ok that'd be great. I need to get rid of this stuff." Damn I should have said $200...

Ok even I can't be that mean... Here's a couple of pics of the few bits I got. I hope I didn't get ripped off... :innocent:

Oh and I got my radiator fixed for $30 too - Kev @ Kia Ora Sheetmetal on Adelaide road, Wellington. :Punk: I took it in on Wedsnesday lunch time and got told ...maybe... by the weekend... maybe... Got a call at 2:30 that day saying could come and pick it up. He'd TIG welded it and pressure checked it as well. Very happy with that man!

The headlight fairing is due to be fixed this week (glued not plastic welded) and the front frame is being/has been remade today...
The whole will cost less than $500 - not including paint job. It's all so upsetting....

Doesnt look too bad for $250 ...shame about dent in the tank though. Assuming all the bits are in good nick then I would say it was a good buy?

Looks like a fair chunk of the donor bike there Col. I'd be happy, specially if I need a few of them there crumbs.

Nice score Col.

I'd be careful about using those forks though. One looks longer than the other!:msn-wink:

One of the forks has a slight bend in it... I'll probably get a new insert at some stage.... don't need it anyway...

So you think you may have been ripped off......

Here is what ya do...... get on the phone and ring around a few wreckers and ask them what it would cost to replace..... (each item you have in the pic's) and then come back and tell us you still believe you have been ripped off...

Someone the other day offered up some forks for $75.... and some one thought that was too cheap...... you have forks there in the pic....

I personally think that you scored blardy well for all that lot.

Sure you may not need everything...... but still you can re-sell it on Trade Me or keep them and if someone on KB needs parts..... they will know where to come looking for them parts.

If you don't need any of it then you haven't got a bargain. :dodge:

So out of the ashes of 2 bins a new 'Phoenix' Cookie shall be baked.

Good news.

Take a pic once it's out of the oven.

I will probably offer some of it up for sale (reluctantly) because according to my wife "there's no room to get to the dryer"... I don't understand it's summer...? I don't know why I let her in my space...
I got the fairing frame back this morning... it looks new... my mate doesn't want anything for fixing it either... I'll have to hide some beer in his fridge one night...

Thanks to those (who have asked me not to say anything) and the greater KB family for helping me with my bike. And Barry my mechanic mate who lives over the back fence

:Punk: You guys and gals rock! :Punk:
