This is a rare bike in NZ. It was a Jap import by Red Barron circa 2001 and I am the 3rd NZ owner. This bike is in good condition in keeping with the low kms.

It is powered by the proven Yamaha 660 single cylinder motor and puts out about 50hp. It is reliable, comfortable and economical and a lot of fun to ride. Engine servicing and parts are not a problem and brakes, switchgear etc are all also readily available.

Red Barron last serviced in Dec (I think) and warrant was done at this time as well - no problems at all. Tyres are Pirelli and about 2/3 worn. The 'muffler' is aftermarket Scorpion and be warned it is loud. While it has passed its warrants I won't guarantee that the muffler will always go unnoticed. Bike shops are probably the most understanding place to go - they also know what is important re safety.

It sounds great and goes well. I have used it for communting and a few longer blasts up to 400km. You will get 20km/l easily and approaching 300kms before needing reserve.

Contact me to view or test. I am selling because I change my bikes over and have two road bikes at present and one needs to go because I have my eye on another. There is nothing wrong with the MuZ.

More photos are on the TradeMe listing.

If this had come along at christmas time I would have bought it.

Its better value than an SRX6 which go for crazy money.

Not wrong there HDC. Handles better and got more poke too. Nearly 1/2 the price of what people want for the Yammy 660 SZR as well (if you could find one). Go on spoil yourself - you know you want to.

You'd have to leave three grand in, would that be OK? I am poor at present. what with buying a racebike and all.

or I could straight swap you for my running registered warranted 1977 CB400F (which owes me over four grand!)

you look honest. give me a call to discuss. i will see what result if any TradeMe delivers first but happy to discuss options. 17 watchers, but i expect many of them will be tyre kickers. not much chance of another becoming available in the next while. tim.
