Firefight, this is a great ride but I was disapointed in the small amount of available riding time. Starting at 10.30 and the track is closed at 3.00pm. With a little time setting up my bike and then suffering a flat tyre I managed to get very little ride time last year. Any chance of starting the ride earlier or letting us ride a bit later than 3.00pm?

if you can ride for 5.5 hours straght you are pretty good, this is plenty long enough, just get out with in the 1st 10 minutes and you will be fine

as an organiser of rides, shutting the loop any later than this puts you into dark by the time you clear the loop and deal with the problems, very few people go out after about 2pm,

and if everyone got their early like they are supposed to it would be easier to start them earlier.

sorry rant of the day, but i don;t think you would ride for much longer if you had the chance anyway

or yeah

this is a great ride by the way, well worth the trip out, and it is as nearly as run as well as a Mr Motorcycles Ride ;)

Ha ha, you don't know me Scott. I'm usually one of the first to arrive and last to leave.
I find I have to spend very little time on anything other than riding to get a good days ride in. That means no socialising or mucking around with other peoples bikes. I realise most people are not as studly as me. JK.

yeah everyone is different, i like getting to a ride early and getting about 100-120km in, noramlly a full speed lap or two in if their is a race coming up, we are usaully on teh way home by 2.00 or 2.30, especailly if we are in the middle of the island around rotorua/taupo

oh that ride will be great with all the rain we have just had.

I don't think I'll take the XR100 out on it. The chain fell off it last time I was riding it and I'm not buying a new chain cause it my sisters bike.

How was the ride davo? I ended up going to the Kopu trail ride and we had a young fella (learner) with us. It was a great ride where I was, but rained heavily at lunch time and most people packed up and went home, so I had the trail to myself . so was alot of fun after lunch.
