Wanted: Any 250cc

I'm looking to buy my first bike.
In the market for a 250cc, not really too concerned what make/model but would like something which is relatively quick off the mark. Preferably newer that 1995 with reasonably low kms.

I have around $3000 to play with, so any offers/ideas would be much appreciated.

get an 98 rg150 and spend $2K modding it - it will eat most 4 stroke 250s if well modded.
however it wont last till you get your full.
but worth the thrill all the same.
