I have a Honda NSR 250 MC18 with a defective oil seal between the crank case and the clutch. I tried buying one from the shop but apparently Honda Japan doesn't produce this part anymore.

After searching everywhere, I found a bike shop in Northland who supposedly knew an overseas company which makes this part. I ordered the part a month ago, with an ETA or 2-3 weeks. Today I've just called the shop again and there is still no delivery date or other details. I am starting to suspect they haven't even ordered it and are just pulling my leg (they required payment when the order was made).

Does anybody know where can I find this part? NSR owners - where do you buy your "hard to find" parts from? I've heard there are companies in UK that manufacture parts that Honda doesn't make anymore, but I don't have any details.

Have you tried searching UK 2 stroke forums? There is a wealth of info in those sites.

Part number 91206-KV3-003?

I can get you that for about $60.

It's not the part that's expensive (about $5) it's the shipping

If its a conventional lip seal you could triy local engineering suppliers? Eg Paykels, Schrodoco, Petch Seals, etc. Take the old one along and ask if they can match it.

Speak to Neil at Econohonda (07 884 8810). Last time I was in there (fixing their bloody PC's again) he muttered something about specialising in NSR parts.

Haven't needed to look for a while but www.partsfish.com used to have all the manufacturer parts catalogues online. Don't know about the NSR as it really was only a Japanese domestic market bike.

I already tried. Unfortunately most of the seals that they have are single-lipped. There is a very small selection of double-lip oil seals and until now I couldn't find anything close to the specifications I need.
