Hey all,
It's finally been over 6 months since I got my L's, so I'm going for my restricted this coming week ........ :woohoo:
I was wondering if you guys/gals have any advice/reminders about what the tester will be looking for and or things that I might of forgotten to get into the habit of??
Also, a big huge thanks to every one who has posted newbie advice stuff on KB as it has really helped

Keep your riding smooth and put both feet on the deck at Stop Signs (this way they can't say you didn't come to a complete stop).
Otherwise read the sticky thread on here somewhere.

One thing I got told off for on my restricted was "walking" my bike forward at an intersection. Reason I was told was that if I decided to go my toes could catch the seal and my heels might hit the pegs
Other than that you can make mistakes. My mate who did his test at the same time as me put his foot down doing the U-turn but seeing there had been no issues during the test he passed.
Main thing is keep an eye in your mirrors for the testing officers indicator and watch your speed.

Best thing I ever do before a test, go and have a pint. That'll chill you right out, that or a shot of JD or something.
So many people are too busy analysing everything that you end up fucking it all up, so just have a drink, chill out, and do it natural like.

You'll be sweet Jas!
The copper's not out to get you; to him, you're just another person progressing to the next stage of their licence...
Breath deep, ride like you know how, (but maybe refrain from scraping yer pipe again) keep to the limits (ie-don't go too slow!), make sure you know where he wants you to go (repeat the "course" back to him) and enjoy it! :P
Look forward to the good news!

Yeah, just remember where he/she told you to go, and also dont wait for ages to find gaps in the traffic so you and the tester can go at the same time, they hate that ( well mine did anyway.) :shit:
Most of all just pretend its just another ride, take your time and relax.
GOOD LUCK!!!! :D

Know your destination route... don't speed... ride your ride. Obey RR's once you get back to the office... have a smoke and wait for the test fella or fellesses's to show...
(I remember I had to wait ten minutes, cause he got stuck in traffic... I thoought it was funny... I was having a smoke waiting for him to show)

all the best mate. passed mine last tuesday. 2 cents worth on 1 foot down vs 2 foot down for stops; after the test the instructor said he didn't really care which you went with so long as you were in control. Make sure you are stopped before dropping a foot though. ie dont drag it or walk the bike along. I went with coming to a stop before putting down right foot, select first and if waiting a bit for lights or at a stop sign drop the left down too.

have an L plate, a rego and a wof and check to make sure your lights are working...simple things i know but they matter.
ask the instructor before hand whether there will be motorway riding involved and whether you are expected to stick to 70 or not....my instructor said 100 is fine.

Pretty much:
1)dont crash
2)dont text while riding
3)and yeah put that L plate back on that fell off a week after getting your bike.

Did mine an hour ago. It's pretty easy. Just keep to speed limit, indicate, make obvious mirror checks and head checks when changing lanes. Remember to indicate at round abouts.
Don't get stressed out. I went the wrong way and turned around to wait for him for 2 mins before I went hunting to find him and he didn't care at all. He didn't even mention it at the end so they must get it all the time
Good luck
