Wonder if he'll front up.
Australian Biker website www.bikeme.tv have issued a challenge to Jeremy Clarkson via Youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE925jbUT7c)
Sounds like a good battle.

Except if Jeremy chooses an Ariel Atom. Top Gear already did a piece on that idea - he made it pretty clear what he thought.

The biggest challenge would be to actually get Mr. Clarkson on a bike in the first place. He's the most vocal motorbike hater around the place, so I doubt anyone could get him riding one. Mr Hammond, sure, but then the first thing he did when cleared by his doctor was to leap on a litre sportsbike.

Nope. James May and Richard Hammond have bikes. Jeremy rode one once and it scared him.

Yep! Reckon Jeremy wouldn't mind using the Atom against a bike, but won't agree to ride one himself! Would love to see Mick up against the Atom on a track, though!!!!

If that dudes gonna ride the Gixxer K6, then it's only gonna go like a 6 hundy with his weight onboard.
I reakon "Top Gear" should do an annual "Litre bike showdown". That would be wicked.
Maybe even a commuters showdown - That would be interesting.

No No No No No.
Watch it again guys.
They are saying - TWO CHALLENGES.
First, with the car. Jeremy chooses the car, and the track.
Then, Mick Hodge chooses the bike, and the track.
They both have to beat each others times on both car and bike.
That's the beauty of the challenge.
On paper, Clarkson should win the car, Hodge should win the bike.
Either way, the video should be good.
Oh and Dafe - Mick Hodge hardly looks like Dany Pedrosa. He's at least my size.

Mr Hodge is a puppet - he has had his strings jerked by Clarkson and he dances to Clarksons tune.Even if he started his own TV show about bikes and put down cars,he'd still be just responding to Clarkson's shit stirring. You'll never top Mr Clarkson in a media beat up Mr Hodge....try to be original next time.

I love the idea, I just doubt that JC will have the minerals to front up.

love all those people that 'reply' with videos of highly modified cars vs stock bikes and claim that cars are faster than bikes.
In all honesty you should know that a car is faster than a bike when it comes to track times, and possible too on open road.
However i enjoy thrashing a bike a lot more than thrashing a car hence why i choose to put my money in to bikes and not cars.

that was really biased and unfair. How can you pitch a car like that (which he as boasting in porsche-to-ferrari territory) against a CBR600? No offense, but I wouldn't even pitch my 636 against it. I'd wanna see a decent superbike like a Gixer thou or R1.
I've never really fully understood why he dislikes them. I saw a magazine article about him, and why he didn't, but I didn't get chance to read/buy it.
I'd like to see the challenge tho

Er....JC doesn't actually hate bikes - he just says that to get extra publicity...he has a public persona that sets out to upset in order to sensationalise.
I think he's quite funny but should never, ever be taken seriously....ever....
Also the challenge has come from Australia so it will be at least 2 years before he finds out about it and will probably dismiss it out of hand as not coming from a country of sufficient population to be profitable for the ratings.
