Great test on the Rocket III in Saturdays Domion Post, Paul. I especially liked your notes at the end in the "Not smart" column.

"No rear wheel removal tool". Ahhh, HELLO! Earth to Paul!

How the fuck are you going to get the rear of the thing off the ground to remove the rear wheel anyway. Don't tell me, you want to adjust the chain....

Also taken from the write up, "..as any drag racer knows, there aint no substitute for cc's...." Ha ha ha, loving that one.

Get a brain Paul, or go back to testing cars which I will admit, you do quite well.

Great test on the Rocket III in Saturdays Donion Post...Is that the D'Onion Post? Y'know - like D'Auckland?
How gay is Paul Owen? How the hell should I know? I've never even heard of him.

But don't expect the motoring section of the paper to have decent write-ups of anything. They do namby-pamby car reviews, so how can they be expected to pass on any useful info about something important like a bike?

2.3 litre might as well be a bloody car, and 240 wide rear that tire wide enough for a car tire too

so some simple people might get confused

At least he didn't say:

Dont the tyres wear out then?Usually easier to take the wheels off when changing them I`ve found.

With that much grunt, I'd say wheel removal will be a regular occurence. 240 section tyre or not!

Good point. But what the hell is the point in being able to get the wheel off, when you can't get the rear wheel off the ground?

Harley-Davidson have not had a tool kit in any of their bikes for over 20 years. And they need the belt adjusted!

99% of people ride their bikes to a shop to get a tyre changed. I'm over the whole wrestling with tyre levers stage.

As any drag racer knows, your best to remove your high heels first.

That'd be bloody near impossible on a 240 low profile tyre. The 120-90s were hard enough to get on without leaving them in the sun to warm up, let alone trying a 50, 40 or even 20 profile.... You'd have to warm the damn thing up until it was nearly melted before you could even think about moving it...

I can fit a 245/40X18 by hand and crowbar. In fact, the first side of the tyre pops straight on the rim with a bit of momentum due to its sidewall stiffness.

Getting the fucker off is a completely different story.
