The time has come where I need to replace the front rotors, they're warped and it's no fun barreling into tight downhill turns with the front end shuddering and chirping away.
So what do I get?
Whats the dealy with these wavey Galfer rotors, they say they resist warpage better than standard ones because they expand differently. Is it bollocks or for real?
Set of plain ebc rotors from the UK is NZ$700 ex shipping
Set of wavey Galfers from the US is about $775 ex shipping
Whats the different between Organic and Sintered pads?

hmmmm with such a new bike first would be see why they are warped so early in the first place.
and well wavey is mostly for wank factor.

hmmmm 40,000kms out of stock pads, or did you wear your old pads down to steal and screw the disc in process?
ebc hh pads?

Definately haven't worn a set of pads too far, I keep an eye on them.
I dont know what type :( Dont know enough about brakes meself (but I know how to change pads...) Thats why I was asking what the difference is between the organics and the sintered HH's...

Wavey is wank. But!!! Galfer is good quality by all accounts, and wavey isn't detrimental to braking, so it's win win. EBC have a good reputation also, either brand will be fine. Make sure you run the pads they recommend though (and not the shop selling them, actually browse their sites), as that half of the equation is just as important as the discs.

yer, i'll look up the matching pads whatever happens.
Could old dodgy pads cause a warped feeling? Should I just go and change the pads now and see how they feel then do something about the rotors?

Just have the run out measured, and check it against the specs. Also, check the thickness of different areas around the disc... shouldn't be more than say 2 thou. Doubtful that the pads are to blame. Might as well recon your calipers whilst you're there, it's cheap and easy, and worth doing.

I got a set of Galfer disk's on the SRAD. They are definitley better than stock ones IMHO.

Where did you get them from and how much did you pay?

Cheers,
Well it appears that Galfer dont do a set for the Speed Four, so it'll be EBC, now just deciding between the plain and the contoured ones. So it'd be best to get the HH sintered pads with them?

I'd go with the softer pads at first, not so harsh.

Get whatever they recommend for street use. Softer is better in terms of service life.
