This is just awful.

http://stuff.co.nz/3992666a10.html

Long story short: A woman in her 20's has a two year old daughter and goes blind when an operation to remove a tumor goes wrong. Daughter goes to live with grandma while she recovers and grandma is none to keen to let kid go back. Three years later she's taken the kid and done a runner, basically.

Dad of child (51 and with new partner) has just relocated from Welly to Hamilton to support her and still "supports her and her actions 100%".

Bloody hell, poor lass. But quite an achievement, really ... amazing what people will do for their kids.

we don't have all the facts but it seems like she has the full support of her father and ex-partner [who, presumably, do]
...... hell of a thing to go blind anyway - but then to be betrayed by someone you trusted --- especially when that person is your mother ......... sheesh!!

Wow... to have a tumor, go blind and then your mother wont give back your own child... your flesh and blood. Disgusting.... she should have had her mothers full support and encouragement not be betrayed by her, makes me  The desperation she must have felt to have to leave the country just so she can be with her child... good on her!

Don't worry, I hadn't scrolled down to your post but I'd already given him bling for exactly that! Well done, long may the trend continue!

That's nothing. Dover gets blind every Friday and still makes it all the way home to Papakura.

On a lighter note this was on the same page...

OMG I had no idea a mere synopsis would bring such joy. I shall start a KB synopsis series for major pieces of fiction. Y'know, Animal Farm in 150 words ... stuff like that.
