Put a motor in it
What carb is it? filter? plug?
thats prob a good place to start - does it nose dive at peak revs? i guessing prob not but i thought i would ask.

Hi again,
not sure, it's daughters scooter but she bought new & is still in stock form.
I have been told that there is an exhaust restrictor that should be removed but would like some further info on the restrictor?
Cheers

An exhaust restrictor could be a washer between the flange and the pipe. In my old scoot it was a rev limiter in the CDI which was removed by cutting the rev limit signal wire.... You'll have to find out which one this is with your multimeter, It's a 0-5v signal (I think or could be 12v) according to the rpm. If you cut it, it will be 0v all the time so the CDI wont know to limit revs. If this ends up making more noise than top speed it's because the variable gearing system is only designed to make ratios up to the former engine rev limit in which case you will need a high speed pulley and new belt. On mine I got the top speed from 50 to 70 with just the rev limiter cut.
Not the same scoot but the same principal applies in *most* cases.
hope this helps

Just taken one out recently.
Undoo the two bolts at the motor where the exhaust connects & the muffler bolt to remove the exhaust. In the end of the pipe at the motor end is a cup washer that can be easily prized out. You then have the option of filing the centre hole out to about 15mm & refitting or reasemble with no restrictor. I stayed with the restrictor as an incentive for the rider to get his restricted before I removed it completely.
