If your daughter wanted a doll, would you rather give her 'bad body image Barbie', or 'I'm a total tramp Bratz' dolls?

Not knowing either of those two I'd go with something that's just... "nice"

I can't stand those stupid tramp Bratz dolls, saw a news article on them. Talk about promoting entirely the wrong things to little girls! Barbies may not exactly be very PC either, but IMO they're the lesser of two evils. In the poll tho: Teddy bears for the win!

Buy her a tonka truck or a model motorbike, who says girls have to play with dolls in their toy kitchen!

I'd give her "Crack Whore Barbie"

It's the best of both worlds.

Yeah buy her a car, bike or a truck....... or even a carpentry set....

I was lucky my grandaughter was a soft toy kiddie...... never was into dolls.

My daughter was into barbie stuff for a short while....... and horses.
Took her to the saddle shop and showed her the stuff needed and the prices..... she soon went off horses....

Those Bratz and barbie dolls are too damn expensive...... and if you buy the WRONG one, they just chuck it into the corner and forget all about it.... money wasted then.

Buy her something educational...... something that she can learn more stuff.

BTW what age is this girl???????????

Those Bratz and other types of dolls should be banned.

My 6 yearold has barbies... shes cut their hair and put nail polish all over them, ruined them basicaly. Bratz are too grown up for little girls... I think.

My two year old little girl, loves trucks, motorbikes and lego. Brought her a truck for her birthday... which she loves. Playdo is great as well, and all my kids are into art, so they have a huge stash of pens and felt tips.

Give them the one they want, without spoiling them. Something is better to play with than nothing. Having nothing sux until you figure out that thing in your head comes up with all sorts of good ideas whether you got a toy or not...

Buy dolls? you are kidding right, maybe not. lol
Fluffy animals are best, dolls are expensive and mess with the mind.
Any other kind of toy that allows the imagination to run wild is good.

i voted teddys as well.
when i was a kid, i had barbie, but i very rarely went near her. loved my teddys and cabbage patch kids. lol. anyone remember the quints dolls from the mid 90s? like a smaller version of barbie...i loved those as well. great fun. i think barbie was too fiddly, and too many things to lose [rings, earrings, shoes, outfits getting muddled up.]

mum and i have a shared collection of teddys, heading close to the 1500 mark. we used to collect cabbage patch kids [around 300 before we lost interest]

those brats dolls are hideous fuckin things. saw a rake thin 9 year old wearing a shirt that read "dont feed the models" if i were that girls mother, no way would she be allowed to even look at a shirt like that, let alone wear it! no wonder theres so many kids who grow up with no self esteem!

You can still buy them in most craft shops, little old ladies still make them. And I'm pretty sure I saw them on sale in a retail toy shop recently too. I hated them as a kid and must confess they look a bit too scary for young kids even today!

I had a Tuppence doll - cheaper than Barbie (oh, in SO many ways...) and not as well-endowed!

yep...quite commonly avaliable. kate finn makes nice ones [though rather beyond my affordablity] i never had one either, but i buy any nice ones i see second hand. the older the better.
