One of the things that I almost fear more than stupid drivers is cat eyes on the road especially the multiple ones that makes up a broken line. At speed they bloody awful and I am sure there are people that have bought some tarmac because of them. Can any one explain why they are in bundles on the motorway

So you can see your lane, and it is a proverbial piece of p__s to countersteer between them when changing lanes. It would take more than catseyes to to bring you down too.

They don't worry me too much. Sometimes in the wet the front wheel skips a bit over them but my bike doesn't worry too much about them. To be honest, paint gives me the shits more than cats eyes.

They're cheaper to maintain than paint.

Paint oh shit yeah, thats ten time worse than cat eyes, cat eyes only really upset a bike if you cranking it over mid corner and switching lanes (ah memories of wainui hill back in welly) other than that it wont bother a big bike much at all. Just get over it and ride like they're not even there, you barely notice them after a while.

dunno whats worse, but woulda said those bloody cats eyes! dunno if there is a way around it and or if its worth it as apparently they are good for sleepy cages... however even on the motorway on the 400 lane changing under accel etc they make the thing go all, funny like.

Yeah - we've got these really nice double yellow lines, painted black so you can't see them, in the middle of both lanes coming up the hill into Karori! They were left over from when they were bunging the bus lane in a few months ago. It's really great on dark, rainy nights! I might email the council and see if they'll fix them up because they either scratched off some of the other old lines there or painted sandpapery stuff on them or done something so that they've even got better grip than the rest of the road!

Agreed... Gave me and the ol' SJ50 many an interesting moment coming home on wet nights. Not so bad on the fxr but still, if you have to brake in a hurry and you're going over one... :shit:
