A biker from Penparcau near Aberystwyth was stopped by police for riding his motorbike with two bicycle lights instead of a headlamp!
Tommy Leonard Rossiter, 20, pleaded guilty to having no headlamp and rear light on his motorbike when he was stopped. Rossiter claimed his “Battery had blown and needed to be replaced, but he could not afford to do so”. Instead he had hooked up two bicycle lights to a small battery. A similar arrangement for the back light was not working.
Rossiter was fined £100 and ordered to pay £35 costs… rather more than the cost of the new battery he has also had to purchase.
