Opunake Bike Sheds

At the moment I'm working with my brother in Opunake (Taranaki) to set up a wireless coastal network http://www.wirelesscoast.net.nz/ to get broadband out to areas not covered by jetstream...

Now we need a site on the Opunake headland to relay broadband wirelessly down to Pihama. I was wondering if anyone knows anyone that uses the bike sheds in Opunake, and if so, would they be interested in talking to me re. putting a pole up there with a transmitter on the top. (Some free net may be in the deal for you)

Bike sheds in Opunake?? That's seems an unlikely location for bike sheds. Leads me to think that there is aa special purpose and that would be associated with the gas oil and offshore operations. Maybe secure storage for when guys are offshore. Bet you'd find out from the local pub :)

Yeah it looks more like a clubhouse or something...
I live in Dunedin so its a bit of a pub crawl to get back up there, but yes thats plan B, thought I'd give it a go here first :)

Go down to the local pub (on the seaward side) & ask for Jim Dodunski. He's a motorsport nutter from way back & has many interests in the area so will either be able to help directly or point you in the right direction. We visited his establishment on one of our Pie n Pint rides mid January - very hospitable place.
