I've got a nano it is great.

One day mine would only turn on to show the apple logo, needed to reset it instructions were on their website.

No idea what is wrong, but how long have you had it? The batteries don't last forever.

My nano (gen 1) is fantastic, use it every day listening to audiobooks while working cooperate mind slave jobs.

The best thing about the mini was the metal covers which the gen 1 nanos don't have. The gen 2s have them so don't scratch as easily.

Finally, nanos are solid state so can be jogged and dropped and you don't have to worry about the hard disk

Try turning it on while it's on mains power - to see if it's the battery, then if your still having trouble reset it to factory settings while it's connected to your commputor, you'll find it easy enough if your using iTunes.I have a mac and a couple of friends have bought their ipods too me to reset using my iTunes.

It depends what you use it for, how often and how many songs you want on it, if you want the imovies and photo's or not. If it were me I'd save up and get the latest full on ipod - I find when I try to save money and buy the cheaper model, I'm not happy with it and always wish I'd spent a bit more.
But if your just wanting to listen to some music then the nano's hard to beat.

Yea the thing won't even respond to my computer, as in when its pluged in it doesn't show up in my computer or in iTunes.

Yea about the new one might have to go for the 30gig as it has the video and games, as I would probably be selling my PSP to get one(never use it), can always chuck the rest on the student loan anyway:D

might help..

does it do anything when you plug it into the computer? Does iTunes (or whatever music player you use) seeing it?

Almost 2 years, yea it would have to be durable enough for me to take it in my leather jacket pocket:ride:

Early 1G Minis had pathetic batteries. Happily, Jaycars have batteries and fitting kits for them, cheap too. Why those fags at Apple didn't put a replacable battery who knows.... I guess it would spoil their pretty little design. Wankers.

Sadly i own a 30gb ipod.

Itunes software is full of bugs and is a fucking joke. After four months of owning it the piece of crap wont turn off.

Brought the Itrip FM transmiter with the Ipod. Sound quality was bad. A lot of static and background noise was always present.

Connecting to my amp via the headphone jack the sound quality was shit. Worse than any badly recorded redbook cd i can think of.

Apple products suck cock, and don't buy the 30gb ipod.
