well, i binned my bike a couple hours ago... going round a curve at 50, and the next thing i know im sliding my white arse down the road... Heres the thing, i didnt even feel anything slip or start to give. It was pretty windy, so my brother suggested it mightve been a strong gust of wind, i only weigh 50 so im not exactly stable in strong weight... But heres the thing, i just got my shiny new helmet yesterday! a HJC carbon fibre race lid... i wasnt panicing when i binned, i just kept thinking "HEAD UP!!! HEAD UP! NOT THE HELMET!!!"

so my new lid is still in primo condition, and the old girl only has some minor cometic damage, indicators, bent handle bars and such... and i just repaired a wee little hole in my downpipes too... i swear im gonna hunt down and kill that murphy bastard...

anyway, heres a pick of my new lid!

Dont know the street name, out in glendene. Its a curve just before hepburn road... apparently my brother beemer 325 got blows across a lane... and thats considerably heavier than my ginny! anyway, now i have an excuse to go and buy shiny new things to put on her...

BUT THE HELMET IS OKAY!!! i dont think i can emphasise enough how happy i am that i didnt screw my new $800 helmet... it has a cool breath guard thing in it that make your look like a fighter pilot too...

I know the one... know heaps of people that live round that way...

Yeah i know the feeling when you bin wearing a new lid! I'll never forget my first bin when I had just bought my brand new shoei ($900) after waiting for it to be ordered in and everything... first thing my mate said to me.. "is the helmet ok?" fark... hehe Thats all i thought about too... "keep head off ground".

Glad to hear ya ok dude... get straight back out there ya hear!

Glad you and hemet are alright. It must reaaarrrrlllly hurt having your helmet scratched. LOL.
Jokes aside I had a big one (crash not helmet). I didn't atempt to save my helmet, but it was the only part of me or the bike that was unmarked.

Glad you are ok, damn that is quite a few bikers down this last few days, take it easy out there guys'n'gals.
Hope your repairs are cheap and easy FL, might pay to go back to the site and check the road for spills and such, might have been wind, might have been oil or something else.

hmmm... be cheaper to buy a new bike! :dodge: get ahold of...judecatmad i think. she binned her ginny the other day, and may have parts for you.

and as for the bars....do em like a candy cane, with alternating stripes! then you get the best of both worlds!

seriously, glad you are ok, and i think the helmet has more than paid for itself!

nah, shouldnt be too expensive to fix. Its all minor cosmetic damage... looks like ill be ringing up me buddy ol' pal at colemans... Besides, the bars on there now are (bent) 1/2inch rise MX bars, i got em for $50, so ill just get another set... im only kinda worried bout the price of the center stand... knowing suzuki, itll cost me seven million dollars...

Im pretty sure it was the wind, coupled with my newly jetted carb, sealed up exhaust, some 4th gear throttle and some wet road... walking the bike back home i almost got airborne cause the wind was so bad, seriously now. I know it wasnt just too much throttle because A) i can feel when my rear tyre starts to slip and B) i didnt open the throttle that much (honest). it was pretty much one second leaning, the other second on the road looking at the pretty orange sparks coming from my bike (which funnily enough kept on running after it was dropped... bloody bullet proof GN's)

took a look on colemans site for bits and pieces, wont be too bad...

hmm... i feel like ice cream...

nah nah, all good. Already got a shop manual for the ol' girl. I like to do my own mechanical work so it was my first purchase along with the bike...

Hehe, i dunno, icecream is kinda a private thing for me man... but anyway, the front wheel could of slipped, however the bike kinda did a 180 whilst it was sliding down the road, which to me says the arse end flicked out and took the rest of the bike with it....

my leg hurts... why did no one point out road is so damned hard?

yeah :) oh, and GN center stand makes pretty dark orange sparks just for further reference...

And i will vouch for draggin jeans... they work... i have no road rash, the jeans dont even look like they have slid down the road. although bruises are showing up... hehe, tommorow is gonna be interesting

cool helmet bro I know/like my carbon
I went over the bars once in my new helmet and pants id got the day before, 3 decent chips outa my lid and a hole in the knee of my pants, I prefered that they did their job rather than anything, but gutted still
Yep- its windy out... I nearly had my first highside today at 30-40 k ! knee down on roundabout, back slid out, stood her up and wheelied out haah

As for draggin jeans, get some real pants man, people swear by draggins but I cringe at people wearing them, road rash heals, but without armour impacts cripple you..
Just trying to save you..
