1990 ZXR250 A front tire change.

Hi,

Just picked up a ZX250A, it currently has a bald front tire and Im wanting to get it changed ASAP. I have a new front tire with rim waiting to go on to the bike. Problem is I lack the tools to change the tire over.

After looking over the bike I am in need of a few Allen Keys, most importantly the large one at the bottom of the forks. No sure what size, but I have been told its a 'size 17'.

Dont really want to go an pay someone $40 bucks to do it for me.

Any advice on changing a tire on my style of bike?

Need 12mm allen key for the big one and 6mm for the little ones on the front. Normal shops don't sell 12mm, need to go to an engineering shop and get one. Think mine cost about $17.

Loosen them befor you jack your bike up as they are usually bloody tight and take a good stomping.
