ZXR250A front tyre change.

When I did my brake rotor on my zzr i had to remove the front wheel, large allen key bolt on the wheel shaft. only allen key i had that was close was too large, supercheap sold the right size for $50 ! ...so I got the angle grinder and some vernier calipers and ground each side off .25 of a mm each time until it fit.

one side is a bolt the other a nut, but can be hard to tell until you get it turning...

Need 12mm allen key for the big one and 6mm for the little ones on the front. Normal shops don't sell 12mm, need to go to an engineering shop and get one. Think mine cost about $17.

Loosen them before you jack your bike up as they are usually bloody tight and take a good stomping. Think its the right hand side that you need to turn but check the manual.

Sorry, just didnt want to have to type it out again. Thought I would get more hits in the 250cc zone rather than Maintainence. :innocent:

Got the front tire off, had to buy a 12mm key, $29 :( what a rip lol. Got everything sorted. Bikes going well.

thats not so bad.
when i wanted to take my front wheel off i needed a 14mm allen key...set me back $57!!...they didnt have a cheaper one available
