View Full Version : Last night's runner... (19 March)

Had a good chuckle, listening to the cat and mouse tactics going on in West Auckland last night.:scooter:
Bike with multiple cop cars racing around. Several "pauses" in the entertainment when the bike was in hiding... then off again!
Glad to hear it all end happily (for the biker, of course!)...

:scooter: :dodge: :Police:  :chase:

:ride: :first:

:woohoo:

Hamburgers, hotdog's, apple pie and baseball, America has given the world many things... including high speed pursuits.

Not down here.

Bike impounded
Failing to stop for red&blue flashing lights
Dangerous driving
No motorbike licence
Doing 155kmh in a 100kmp area
Doing 112 in a 50 kmh area
Attempting to pervert the course of justice
Failing to indicate
And riding a Honda

Not the first time this guy has done a runner - but the old work addage holds true "why worry about it, he'll come again"

Now he pays.

"YAY he's riding a bike - yay he got away!!!!"

"Oh hang on... the bike was stolen/he killed someone doing a runner/he was pissed as a newt/he's a con on the run... etc"

hmmm suddenly giving him support doesn't look like such a sensible thing...

Just because someone's on bike doesn't mean they deserve unconditional support of other bikers. And anyone vs. the Police is a similarly pathetic argument.

"Average" bikers don't do that sort of shit... they take their medicine. A small ticket blown out to a court hearing... good move, loser.

I presume they have his reg and will pay a visit soon?

Perhaps he went through a red light, something that pisses off the masses on here in KB land...

As is dangerous/reckless driving, dangerous speed, all of which I am sure this oxygen thief did during the chase... and all perhaps to avoid a $150 or so ticket...

(not that I in anyway condone running from the feds)

could have been riding around on 90 demerits, dreading the next cop who decides to ticket for bugger all (like 11%) over the limit... decided to run in order to keep his (or her) license, job, house etc

but then again, could have been some P'd out freak hyped up on party pills and cheap wine out on a mission to score the next hit

And if he was on 90, instead of 3 months for excess demerits, bump it up to a minimum 6 months or more for taking off and causing a pursuit. DOH!

not if he was any good and had half a clue, no point in running if the cops have your rego.

And that is exactly the problem here. Perhaps I support the runner, perhaps i don't. But as to circumstances we are speculating, and none of the known facts have convinced me to condemn the runner, conversely nothing we know says the runner is anything other than an 'oxygen thief'.

Where we disagree, is that i don't have a problem with folks running...... sometimes.

Whatever happened to the outlaw image.
I've seen crowds of bikers pulling up to a bar and ordering lattes for golly gosh sake!!!!
I don't know what a latte is but it didn't come in a pint glass that's for sure!!!

If we want car drivers to notice us on the road then throw away the knitted headlamp covers, take the baffles out of your exhausts, don't stop for cute iddy biddy ducklings and never take off your sunglasses at night!!!

All right, you scrawny beanpole: becoming a cop is not something that happens overnight. It takes one solid weekend of training to get that badge.
