Haven't had a ticket or anything recently (that I am aware of) but what happens when a speed camera gets a shot of anyone going more than 40kmh over the limit.

If caught by an HP or muftie, you are walking but what's the scoop on speed camera tickets that are well over the limt, other than the nasty fine??

Be interested to know.

No demerits from camera fines as far as I know.

Refer FAQ 3 on the following link: http://www.police.govt.nz/service/road/infringements_faq.html

well not had any come through the post so far, camera fine's, however was told that they don't inclur demerit points, and must admit i'll rathert be on the bike , as yet most times its quite nice to speed up towards their vans , just for the hell of it and to see the "flash" thank god for only one number plate

You are aware that they also normally write down the number plate as the bike passes right? (well, if they are in a position to do so.. and get the binoculars quick enough).

Caution - if the camera operator is on the ball and hears the camera fire, they can write down your number as you go past and you will still get a tax invoice

Damn..... too slow.......oh well, more supporting evidence I suppose

Ok, so say you get done from the rear cos you were doing 200ish in a 100kmh area. Any repurcusssions other than a hole in your bank account?

geez paul, your whale would be pretty scary at 200kph wouldn't it?

i suspect you might get a visit but unless you are silly enough to admit it, you are probably unlikely to get more than that massive fine.

My favourite party trick is to drag off a car at a certain set of lights.. cos I know just around the corner is a fixed camera.... gets those pesky boi racers everytime...

The way the tax vans are positioned is mainly hidden off of the side of the road, normally in a bunch of trees/bushes.
At 200kph there would be smeg all time to read a plate, let alone see it through the foliage!!!

yes. I got caught doing 110 in a 50 in my mini and I got a letter saying I had to go to court or the person who was driving had to go to court. Instead I wrote a letter of apology and admitting guilt. Got a $750 fine (i think, could have been more). I assume the judge, if he deemed could have taken my license. Maybe one for the coppers to answer.

I got stopped when the man in the van radioed ahead that there was a red bike coming through that he had clocked at 130k.
The downside of less populated roads I guess.

:)

She's rock solid all the way to 260kmh with your face between the dials and everything tucked in to get there.

I got the beginnings of a redundancy procedure handed to me 30 minutes before I was due to go to Napier on Friday noon and were so pissed off I took my fustrations out on black beauty . A five minute stop in Tokoroa for gas and to wipe off a large percentage of the insect population off my visor was all and I arrived in Eskdale 2 hours and fifty minutes after leaving Paps.

I thoroughly needed that ride but my pinger went off on the way back by Matamata and I didn't see an HP or Muftie so hope I didn't get a nice piccy taken at the time.

Hi, I’m Sheriff John Bunnell, I’ve been an officer long enough to know that some things never change; crooks still think they can get away and cops will do anything they can to stop ‘em. It’s always interesting, sometimes terrifying, but it’s never boring.

apparently the human body was never designed to go faster than a horse could run and if you go faster than that, you're gonna die a horrible death: at least that's what retards and coppers think.............
