I'm looking for some animal skulls to paint black and put on my new project bike "Apocalypse". It's a kind of Mad Max thing.
May I come looking on your farm? I can't find any on trademe.
Sheep, cow, goat, cat, bird, possum, any skulls are good.
I will boil them clean, bake them dry, and wire them onto the bike.
If you live within about 300kms of Wellington or know where there are lots of dead animals, please give me a yell.
Thanks heaps.
EDIT 1 I have now got two skulls, could do with a few more though...
EDIT 2I have started a new project thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=46449) to show how it's going.

Shite we have hundreds of dead opossums lying dead and squashed on our country roads up here in Auckland.
Go for a wee ride out in the country and take a plastic bag and a good sharpe knife to cut the heads off from the bodies..... and then chuck the body into the ditch.
Go to a small country town and put a note up on the village notice board...
Someone there will or should be able to help you out.
Good luck.......
Oh and we want to see pictures of this when you have completed this project.

There's a dead possum up on SH 2, southbound between Melling and Petone, near the centre of the ghost lane. It's getting flatter by the day though!
Oh, and the new bike sure sounds interesting!

If you get some I would be keen to take a mould of one as I want to try to re make a front faring with a skull in it!

Cool, I'll PM you when I have them boiled and baked dry.

Yes Mack roadkill would be fine, but it tends to be rather flat, as Drum has pointed out.

That's only if you misjudge it! just aim for the middle or 'squishy' part, you only want the skulls right?
PS this technique is not recommended for animals any bigger than possums, unless you don't own the car.

I don't think that's quite what the WOF inspector meant when he said your bike needed a horn fitted.

Thou art a fisherman. What's wrong with a shark's jaws? With the headlamp inside.
And a giant squid draped across the tank. The tentacles could wrap round the cylinder heads.

You can sometimes find whole pigs heads at supermarkets, or else ring around some butchers as someone mentioned before. Good luck with the project, can't wait to see it!

I have a couple of goat skulls complete with horns sitting on my fence you can have if you like. They are completely different sizes though. Completely different sized goats, they were. All flesh has gone now so nothing to do but set the horns and teeth with glue to stop them falling out.
Deer antlers (on head bone) any good for you? Might fail a WOF inspection though.

Darren Meates. I think he's in the book under "The Game Butcher" or something.

Darren Meates. That would be a butcher's name, wouldn't it?
