Hey there,

I've been considering options for getting getting a 250cc from now till i get a full license and upgrade to a bigger bike.. And since getting my Learner License i've been selling some things to save for a bike. I had been thinking of getting a loan for one, for sports bike. But since Sport 250's are so expensive i think i will go via cruiser bike route and save money for a bigger bike later. It will do for learning to ride and see me out til i get my full.

So getting to the point, i've come across a Yamaha Virago on TradeMe for $1400. The seller is in Franklin, Auckland. I was wondering if there is any KB's in that area or not far who wouldn't mind taking a look at the bike and take it for a test ride?? just to be sure it's not a lemon. It looks in good condition from the pic's on TM though, but you can never be too sure eh.

And for any other KB's who own a Virago, what are they like to own/ride? are they sort of like a GN?

Thanks

Daza

You could always PM Crashe for Virago feedback (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/member.php?u=1875)

Extremely biased, of course.

You got a link to the Auction?

$1400 sound's unrealistically cheap for a Virago in good condition.

Yeah here is the link here. The Auction starts at $1400. But there's a buy now price close to it. What would you expect the price to be for a bike like this?

What me Biased........... Never in a million years.....

Looks like it has now sold.
It did good in good nick....... would have to hear it going.
77,000kms on the clock is ok if the bike has been maintained during its lifetime.
It is a 1990 model......

As per my pm, second hand VIRAGO's  go for around the $4 grand as they do hold their value.
As do most 250cc bikes.
