On this day 10 years ago Mstrs and I got married.
We had 6 kids between us - four of them still living at home.
Money was as scarce as hens teeth.
Entertainment had to be cheap - or even better, free.
Life was pretty much a battle to keep our heads above water.

10 years on , we own our own home, not flash but nice enough. We have only one kid left at home + our Finnish boy, who we recently adopted.
We have a bike each, a couple or three cars praked in the driveway and while we still maintain our budget life is not a struggle for $$ anymore.

Entetainment consists of going out on the bikes, picnic lunches on the riverbank in Wairoa - after the ride up there of course.

Things have changed for sure - but Mstrs is still my best friend and the love of my life.
Happy Anniversary and here's to many more

Well done. Must be nice to (almost) have the house to yourself. Mum and Dad reckoned it was like having an extra income when the kids (5 of us) left home.

My wife and I are coming up to 27 years this November. Still got the two boys at home doing tertiary studies.

There are so many people on KB that complain about marriage, and how crap it is... that to read both your posts is an absolute refreshing and inspiring change... thank you!

Congrats to you both...

May the next ten be even better than the first ten.

I've been married for 191 years and it gets harder every year.

Yungatart, I know you don't get hangovers, but drinking in the morning and then posting is not recommended.

(Congratulations, and the keg of Tui is on the way MSTRS. You poor bastard).

Enjoy the celebration, and well done,
now why is it everyone says "well done" .......makes it sound like its hard work or something, well I know it is at times, the ups and downs, but if you find the right person its an excellent place to be and extremlely worth it, cause the ups are so good. Enjoy.
Oh God, just realised, the comments on the "ups", come on guys, gotta be some response to that.

A wonderful achievement and hearty congrats. A partnership has to be worked at if its to last and you guys clearly have the magic ingredient. It's too easy for some people to walk away from it rather than put in the hard yards. Jennie and I celebrate #35 later this year - we have no kids at home any more and are living life to the full:innocent:

Best wishes and have a fantastic celebration
