View Full Version : Browser issue?

Anyone else have a problem with the new version of Firefox (2.0.0.3) when submitting a new post? This has only been a problem for me since Firefox updated itself... but now when I post new messages, where you would normally get redireted to your new post to see it at the end of the thread, the page just goes blank and it says Done at the bottom of the screen. If I try to refresh the page, a postdata box comes up, so if you try to press OK it tries to post your message again (good thing KB prevents that). So my message does get posted, but the bloody screen doesn't show it.
Any suggestions?

Hi Deviant,
It looks like Kb is having a problem at the moment with replies and PM's regardless of browser. Scorpygirl has had the dsame issue sending replies and pm's tonight, plus she has received the same pm from some people up to 4 times, as they think the message hasn't beem sent.

I have been having major problems tonight with posting on threads and sending PMs. I have had 4 and 5 of the same PMs from people tonight.

Yep been getting blank screen after sending PMs  trying to refresh page just brings up a data transfer message. just bypassing the page by opening another tab gets things back to normal

Yep. Same problem, and I haven't changed browser. It's a KB server end problem, not your browser
EDIT I'm avoiding the POST issue by not refreeshing. Just hitting the back button twice when I get the blank screen THEN refresh to see my post.

Good, glad it's not just me or Firefox. I'll undo the system restore I did trying to fix it! I was solving the problem by just pressing back a couple of times and refreshing as well, but it was irritating me so I thought I'd mention it ;)

I have sent a pm to Spankme regarding this issue. Hopefully it will be sorted tomorrow.
Edit: Looks like the problem has been fixed, as my last few replies/pms are fine.

It posts (i.e. when you go back to the thread - the post is there) but the following message comes up after submitting the post.
"The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:
This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between posts. Please try again in 30 seconds. "

Having problems posting this morning (I use Explorer not Firefox). Kept telling me when I "Submit Reply", that "This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between posts. Please try again in 28 seconds." Thought my post had not gone, so reposted with the same error message being returned, only to find that the first post had indeed gone:doh: LOL.

Hi Guys and Girls
Are any of you getting the above error when sending a PM?
The message seems to be going through but I get a white screen with this error instead of what it used to do and go to my PM page.
Any help or advise would be much appreciated.
Hope you all have a fanTAZtic weekend with the weather looking great

Yep me too....... happened a couple of times today.....
Coming up after I have posted...... it states 'Done' and the page is blank....
I have to go and open up a new browser to get to KB again......
otherwise it will end up with lots of the same posts over and over if i go 'back' and submit the post again.

For me it looks like the content-type is being set wrong in the reply when you do an HTTP POST..
Okay, now you don't get any answer at all.
IE has this 'feature' where if you get a non 200 (OK) result from the server, and the reply is less than a certain amount of bytes, it displays the highly un-useful 'Page not found' message.

OK guys - you need to keep in mind Spank is the only person who attends to technical problems - He is on holiday at the moment, with limited internet access...

Content-type seems to be the problem. Would explain the problems I'm having under Firefox; after you send the post/reply, the newreply page seems to have content-type wrong so Firefox pops up and asks me if I want to download the page, instead of doing what it should do and display it.
