The Brough Superior...

OK it was all marketing hype but it was a bespoke motorcycle for the rich and famous and was faster than virtually anything else AND Lawrence of Arabia died on one....

Apart from that....

That thing with the Heliocopter Jet Engine would be the thing I'd want to troll down Queen Street on a friday night... Rocket III Pah! I got me a REAL rocket dude (with flames)

Red Line Series 7 wasn't bad - not too many made.

The Merlin Metalworks Inc. Cielo Record is a wicked bike - Ti and CF make up most of the bike. Running full Campagnolo gear and weighing next to nothing.

Motorbike wise.....

Well, the 999R would have to be up there. The Benelli Tornado. The Yamaha MT01 will be nice when made.

The XLV750 is pretty cool, especially the red white and blue model, one of the most 'special' Hondas ever built.

But the coolest bike ever has to be the Vincent Vtwin, with not much money to use Phill and Phill designed a bike to the best of their engineering knowledge and materials of the time, never before and maybe not again has a bike broken out of the mould of it's time.I'm sure the Vincent experts could tell you all about it,but shit,it's an absolute masterpiece in every respect, the fastest thing on the roads for decades...and after.I remember when Ken MacIntosh used to ride the Egli Vincent at Puke,a 30 yrs old motor just loafing around cleaning up the latest bike of the time.

It would have to be the Britten, when you consider what an accomplishment it was, and how many innovations it incorporated. And it looks kewl!

Hard thing to quantify, kewlness, as it's so subjective, but it would have to be "what would turn the most heads as it went down the road, and would attract the most attention parked?" or summat like that.
That would still be the Britten, but the jet bike and Vincent Black Shadow would still be up there.
For the less discerning, probably some very noisy chopper loaded with lots of bling and an outrageous paintjob.

I read that too, and rather than make the final drive stronger, it was easier for BSA to detune the motor.

you will never get everyone to agree on this one. its just to hard. some bikes that used to look hot just look dated now where as some retain thier looks.
I think my 86 vfr has aged well (nice flowing lines, very organic) but the gsxr of the same period was hot at the time. Actualy i still like the look of them as well. Interesting that no-ones mentioned them yet as they were a significan advance at the time in performance. watch a race from that time and youll see vfr's and gsxr's battling it out while other bikes are struggling with clearancearound corners just to try and keep up.
must say the limited augusta (senna i think) were and are a very hot bike.
