The day started as any other Thursday morning. Got up and logged on to KB, got kids off to school then got a PM from DMNTD to see if I wanted to check out some really sexy MV Agustas at Taupo. Sounded like a great way to spend an afternoon so I did my shit in town then got my bike gear on and headed down to Taupo. On arrival there were half a dozen bikes hooning around track #2. All very nice to watch others having all the fun(Tui) but next thing I was offered a go on the track if I just sign the dotted line.... Got introduced to Paul who had brought all the lovely exotic bike to play with.
Took little Ratty out for the first time on Taupo track and foud out that my braking points were COMPLETELY different to the ones I'd been using on my ZXR. Ratty has no brakes to speak of! Did a few laps on the old girl and felt sorry for her being so old and not really up to track riding, so brought her in and asked Paul if I could have a go on the very nice 916. Well this bike had all the goodies and handled like a wet dream! The V twin power didn't take much to get used to and I was soon flying around the track, hanging off it and thought to myself, life dosen't get much better than this! I was having so much fun and didn't want to get off the Duke but the red flag was out so it was last lap & I was last off the track.:innocent:
A short break and the full track was opened up so I took little Ratty out again just to see the new lay out where the old and new tracks meet. My first time with this lay out as last time we had the flip-flops(which was my favourite part of the track.) Got the hang of it then brought Ratty in and asked really nicely if I could have a go on the Brutale. Well this bike was something else! I'd never felt such awesome power and it wasn't long before I was hanging off it and loved every minute of it! The sit upright position was hard on my little girly arms and I couldn't go too fast down the back straight for fear of ending up like a sheet in the wind. The power of that thing was phenomenal and I only revved it to about 8 grand....it goes to 15!:gob: As I was finding the Brutale hard work, I brought it in in the hope of a turn on the MV SENNA! Was my lucky day! :D I mounted the Senna and gushed all the way out the pit lane and onto the track. Took it real easy for the first couple of laps then got into the groove and fell in love all over again! This bike is by far the best bike I have ever ridden. Words cannot describe the feeling of Taupo Full Track on an MV Senna!! It was heaven! I now fear I am spoiled for all other bikes. I think the only thing that could possibly top the experience would be a ride on a Britten!:innocent: I live in hope.
Huge thanks to DMNTD and Unit for the invite and to Paul for sharing his toys and spreading the love! I cant wipe the grin off my face. :2thumbsup

LOL...I'm still dribbling too Kel!! Sorry for that vision but FARK!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was without doubt the best motorcycling day of my LIFE...bar none!
First up for me was a blast on the Brutale...omfg...I mean I knew I wasn't going to have to pay for the track but I NEVER expected to be able to just jump on this man's (Paul's) bling bling toys and thrash...yes,thrash their wee arses off :shit:
Absolutely loved the Brutale....my sort of bike fore sure!
Then...916 Duc...YUMMY sounding bike that handled like a wet dream! Oh the purr as I hooned around the track was divine!
Oh...yes...the best bike I've ever ridden...the latest MV Senna
I had no idea how good a bike could ride until I rode that baby!! Holy snapping bum bums!
Hit 5,500rpm and fark me!!!!!!! The ride was simply extraordinary...pure motorcycle in which in my limited experience on a track could not find fault in any way.
Oh yeah...I did abuse my new ZX10 and Unit's RSVR too but for some reason they weren't the hight of the day. Strange that!
Huge thanks goes out to Paul and the boys at Bay City Motorcycles for the best motorcycling day in my life!!!!!! :Punk:
Did I mention that I've been invited to go once a month?

Just to reinforce all that was said, OMFG what a great choice I made Thursday morning. Instead of putting my high heels on, hopping in my car and turning left out of my street, I put my leathers on, hopped on my bike and turned right out of my street, GOOD MOVE:Punk: . Now your all going to shoot me cause I CHOOSE not to ride any of the MVs, yep I know. But I was grumpy from work and in a bad head space, I was just tagging along as DMTND's shurper girl carrying all necessary gears. Didnt expect to be included but signed the 'all care no responsibility' sheet and took the Prilly out. Sucks cause its still got the bloody horrible Pilot Road on the back and the Prilly was slip sliding a fair bit. Then took the ZX out with yet even more recent mods done. Now its waking up nicely and is much more flighty than when I was running it in. Then finally onto the Duke. What an awesome bike and the sound from that particular beast was pure V-Twin porn. It was seeing the looks on Chris and Kellys faces that really made my day, those two were just in a world of there own, (together but separately that is, oh and Im watching....):Punk: :done:

Got to say Chris was invited in person and wasnt really our place to invite the whole of KB along, we were privilidged indeed and Chris checked it was OK for me to come along, Kelly living so handy was OK to come for a look, but was also included once there, just one of those things that fell into place really. We (kelly, Chris and I) all feel it was our duty to share this via annoying photos, bragging (Oh and it was Towel Ronga Thursday night drinks/ride?/drinks night) but Kelly beat us there and she had told the WHOLE story by the time we arrived. Poor Towel Ronga crew, was a tough Thursday night for them this week, bloody Norfland Imports and Rotovaga locals:banana: :2thumbsup :D

I only text Bob twice....when I first got to the track then again when it was all over. Since Chris is the one with the "official" invite, maybe you'd better ask him about next month.

The most preposterous notion that H. sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if he does not recieve this flattery. Yet this absurd fantasy, without a shred of evidence to bolster it, pays all the expenses of the oldest, largest, and least productive industry in all history.

a head of his time for science fiction, which is what he wrote. a quote from him is like a quote from Spok off startrek - He had some dodgy ideas about incest that most normal people would find repulsive.

Well we did actually, and we had good machanic's on site too so we were very well catered for. Pilot Roads are not for the track, sorry but just dont work when you really want to push this machine along. And the strada, thats definately worse. Nop, these just dont qualify as tyres in my world, Id rather burn through a Pilot Sport in half the Ks and have twice as much fun any day
