Well I went for a ride last night and noticed my neutral light kept flickering, then it went through a period where it wouldn't stay on and then it was on all the time. Now I have not worked out out any consistencey. I do know that when you are in neutral in glows.

The bike is an 02' ZX6R

Now if this counts I have only found a false neutral once the rest of the time I have had no issues with the gearbox (the whole 2 months I have had it).

Any ideas if its gearbox or wireing and if wiring any diagrams available.
Is this common?
Anything I should be wary of??

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like an earth problem, maybe water sitting on a contact?

Try giving the connections a clean inside the neutral light unit.

What?

The way it works is thus - Power flows into the light, then along the earth wire to the switch in the gearbox, i.e. the gearbox switch earths the light bulb by connecting it to the chassis. Your issue could be a shot switch (or loose, if it is an adjustable set-up), or (more likely) a shorting wire between the switch and the bulb.
