I really hate to admit it, but I prefer the 999 to the new 1098. Please don't get me wrong, the new bike's not a bad looker, but it seems to be a bit more 'Japanesy'.

The single sided swing arm may be a styling icon but it seems to make the back end of the Duck look cumbersome. The double sided swing arm on the 999 looks much cleaner.

The front end and fairing seem bland.

I thought that the 999 was ugly when I first saw it, but I must admit it's grown on me.

What's a man to do?

The frontend styling of the 999 has changed since 2004-2005 too which helps. Looses two of the gill-like intakes (whatever they are) and the top fairing is a bit bigger. Its nice!

Always been a fan of the 749 Dark.

The 999 is weird IMO, especially the rear/muffler piece.

999 looks fugly compeard with the 916 to 998 shape. i would be happy to have a 1098 to run around on though.
