I've been roped into helping a filming company with an ACC short film about motorcycle safety.

They want a young motorcyclist that rides a sportsbike to take part in the production.

You'll be paid well, although you need to take three days off work to do the filming.

One of the days will be spent at Manfeild with Aaron Slight giving us riding 'tips' that we're then going to have to demonstrate.

The first two days are Tues/Wed next week, the last day toward the end of next month.

Anyone that's keen, please PM me your details, I'll then either get hold of you personally, or get Dave (from the film company) to do so.

Cheers,

Pete

Bah! I think a splendid chap in a waxed cotton barbour Jacket, flat cap n goggles astride a sporting throughbred of a proper british type would have been vastly more entertaining.

"Er No Mr Slight - the gear change is on the other side.".. sort of deal...

Just a thought, if we are going to go for someone my age.....not young but not old, then I think the 'chick on a sportsbike' thing would be a good angle....

Hi there. I believe i fit your criteria. I am fairly young (is 20 pushing it? not grey yet?) and i ride a sportsbike. Been riding 6 months and I love every bit of it. So much so that i decided to join Kiwibiker...haha. Are you looking for novice or experienced riders by the way? I feel conifent in my skills as i develop them and I think it would be a fantastic opportunity to be involved in something like this personally. And it is personal to me. My mate binned it last month and narrowly missed a transformer box as he slid across the coarse tar into the gutter. He wasn't wearing protection and got severe road rash (down to the bone) on his forearm and shoulder. Sad thing is he has full leathers but was just off to the dairy and thought he didnt need them. Bad luck eh? Prompted me into wearing mine EVERY time i ride.

Anyways, good luck to the leading man who gets the role, pretty bloody awesome role too :)

Crasherfromwayback

How many was that?

Probably around 12 from here, same number from shop customers......and a few that the film company had sniffed out.

Good luck people.....I'd obviously like it to go to a KB'er....that's why I put it out there here!

Hey there Guys and Gals.....thanks to everyone for taking the time out to send me your details. It seems in their ultimate 'wisdom', ACC have 'supplied' their own person for this film.

I hope you don't feel like I wasted your time, it would've been nice if they'd chosen one of you.

I appreciate your efforts in helping me out though, I did what they asked.
Obviously they don't know talent when they see it!!

Cheers again...

Sounds suspiciously similar to and quite hot on the heels of a DVD put out by the Highways Agency in the UK and given away free at exhibitions and rallies, and also as cover DVDs with Bike Magazine and MCN.

I'll be interested to compare the two (being as I worked on the UK one) once the NZ production is complete.

Whats your role on this one, Pete?

I'm the 40ish Harley Rider! Only hope they don't expect me to turn up to Manfeild with it. I don't mind the first two days filming sifting round the Wairarapa Back Roads on on.....but I'm wanting to take our new GSXR1000K7 to Manfeild.
