Had a GS850G for over a decade, sold it 2 years ago.
If yours has been looked after should be bulletproof. Great bike.
Ride safe
How do you download photos on to this site/thread? :scooter:

create a new post, then scroll down to the "additional options" and and you'll see a button "manage attachments". click on that and another window will open where you can link to picture files on your computer. There are size limits so be aware of that/ When you've put in the location of the picture, click on the "upload" button. Once uploaded you can close that window and then click on the "submit reply" button.

Why we love our GS Suzukis
"The 2-valve-per-cylinder-powered bikes are recognized by experts as the most reliable, bulletproof engines the world has ever seen, closely followed by the air-cooled 4-valve-per-cylinder-GS's.
These classic engines have True Grit: no matter what happens, they will take you home."

Im busy restoring & have just finished repainting my '77 GS750 festooned with genuine Dunstall parts, including the tank cover, 5 piece fairing, seat unit/tailpiece & a pair of real Dunstall mufflers [not those nasty taiwanese copies]

That looks pretty good - genuine Suzuki mufflers? The ones on my bike were chrome skin over rust and fell apart when I tried to remove them. Wanted Staintunes but they were going ot cost more than I paid for the bike ($3K)
Currently running a Cycleworks 4-into-1 with a nice quiet CBR600 muffler

Tell that to the young couple who I meet hitching home after their GKs shaft drive shat itself

Yeah - it said ENGINES. Some of the other bits have issues (eg electrics)
My own 1100GKs drive had a problem - the splined coupling that mates with the rear wheel hub wore out due to age, lack of lube, road dirt, 80,000km, etc. I got lucky in that I was going for a short trip one week after returning from a South Island tour - the splines failed a the gas station about 200 metres from home and, yes, they are a heavy bitch to push. Got another coupling from Buckets'n'bits - was off a GS650 and fitted perfectly. The coupling gets cleaned and re-lubed (moly grease) whenever the wheel is out now

I ride a 1982 GSX 400 to work most days (100 KM round trip) and that old thing is just bullet proof. They are great old bikes those early GSXes that I just sort of can't leave them alone. Riding from a different era but not without excitement.
But sadly sold to put towards our house 17 years ago, but yay at least we have another GS now (I am new to the riding business but am enjoying it!!) :scooter:
So who has been for a ride this weekend, sadly not here, too much to do round the house this weekend, hopefully tomorrow. :scooter:

Seems like I will be sticking with the GS's for a while.
Just upgraded from my '81 GS 250T to an '87 GSX 750 Katana.
It needs a bit of panel work, and a dent filled in in the tank but otherwise its mint.
Hiya Spud, have you managed to get a photo of your 250T and now of course we will need to see the katana :scooter:
