"Chemists at the University of Washington in Seattle say they are developing ‘smart' sunglasses that will let the wearer instantly change the colour of their lenses to virtually any hue of the rainbow"

The perfect visor is one with a 210 degree lateral visual aperture, and doesn't fog up. Ever.

The perfect visor is one with a 210 degree lateral visual aperture, and doesn't fog up. Ever. But I might get a sunburnt face. I'd like not having to change visors.
Actually, the Suomi makes it a bit more of a chore than it should be. The pillion's Rjays/KBC is much much better.

I REALLY like the visor on my AGV XVent: dark-tinted AND mirrored. If the visibility drops, I switch to the clear one. And they're a HEAP cheaper than the Shoei or Arai ones.
Pity the helmet's not the best fit...

My nolan with the dark tink VPS does the trick. I have an anti-fog slip on the inside of the visor so I can huff and puff all I want.

Helmets with colour changing visors, built-in bluetooth, speakers, microphones. They'll come with windscreen wipers next. Give it 5 years and they'll be a safety hazard just from the weight of the helmet and all the extra shit.
What?

Cool - I've been thinking for a while that the perfect shooting glasses would change from yellow through orange to red then purple.
I want some!

Pretty cool lenses by the look, wouldn't take much to be able to setup a pre-programmed chip for you favourite settings, can they do a nice red mirror tint for daytime use and then the optimum low light settings for night riding....

Are they anything like the 'danger' glasses that Ford and Zaphod had in the Hitchikers Guide?

My Shoei visor is still doing well with regular Rain-X use. It's brilliant stuff eh, Jim?

This idea came out in the 1960s. It was copied form the visors used on fishing trawler windscreens but unfortunately the first models weren't very well balanced and tended to vibrate very badly at any speed over 40mph. Don't know if they've improved at all as they are now intended for use in offshore powerboat racing. Google Turbo visor for more info
