View Full Version : So, have you ever been on an adventure ride Jim?!?

As you steadfastly deny any interest in riding on the dirt - can I enquire if you've been on an organised ADV ride?

If not - I implore you to have a bash on a big trailie on a nice bit of dirt road.

Even if you don't enjoy it (which I find hard to conceive that you wouldn't) it will make you a better road rider.

And if you do enjoy it - a whole nuvver NZ will open up before you.

No cops, no traffic and powerslides.

Ah, and there's the rub. I'd love to.

But anything I say as to why it isn't going to happen in the near future will be immediately pounced upon as putting "obstacles in my way".

He got his foot down (not a knee) on the Aprillia the other day....a foot in the door? I'm a bit worried that if we convert him he'll be harder to get off the subjet than a Jehova Witness....

Zealot schmelot - My next bike will probably be a Softail Custom.

Tomorrow not good - Plan to be taking photos of the stunt man on the Buell TT - Subject to sh*t and the said stunt man getting it together.

What time are you away? in case he pillows?

No - but david cohen design produces marketing materials for exactly 30 of them.

Partly pays for all the dicking about with motorcycles.

Hm. 5 minutes from the town centre ? Bet I can do it in three. And "outings and activities" ? Who gets outed? And what sort of activities. Are they what I think ?

What a jolly uninformative ad. Completely ignores IMPORTANT stuff, like the amount of gargre space, workshop facilities , is there a bar onsite, what are the local hookers like (well, hey, it's for OLD people). Y'need to get with the plot, convey what's is important to teh target market, right?

Big Dave
30th March 2007, 18:42
Hm.

yuh - in 10cm by 11cm he wants war and peace....
How long have you been an ad buyer?

Ixion
30th March 2007, 18:44
Nope. But I'll bet that agewise I'm smack in the middle of their target demographic. And I know what *I* think is important.

Levae out the crap about privacy , and stunning views and assistance at the rpess of a button (unless it's *that* sort of assistance - see comment re hookers). Nobody's interested in that stuff.

Handy having a hospital on site, mind you, in case one bins it.

Dude *you* are a demographic of 1.

But yes - the target market is our age looking for care for mum and dad.
Respond and ask for the brochure and comprehensive information will be forwarded.
They do have 'blokes shed nights' for the old coots, I suspect hookers have not made it to anyones official agenda.

I often take my bike up gravel roads, it's exhilarating and teaches me a lot about handling. When I go back to tarmac my confidence is doubled.

A bunch of Concrete cowboys take up the challenge to improve their skills by going back to basics off road.

Totally been putting off learning to ride off road. $$ has been my only excuse.
I believe I need to man up find the money and give it a good thrashing.
I have hit a bit of a brick wall in the learning to handle better stakes and feel I need to bust the back end loose on something that is supposed to be busted loose and spend some time in some gravel and mud to really improve.
