Advice on storage stand?

Can someone please recommend a site to look at or a place to visit in Auckland that has some storage stands? Basically we have a new bike on the way but only a single garage. The garage is long enough to hold bike + car if the bike was stored sideways up by the end wall, but shuffling that back and forward into position will be a big mission, so looking for something I can sit the bike on and wheel sideways.

I have a stand I used for my GSXR1000. Doesn't go sideways but lifts the back wheel clear of the ground and makes it sit upright nicely - saving space and allowing you to work on the chain etc. Only had it a couple months and sold the bike for a M109R - which can't use it. You just need the little knobs added on ya bike (few bucks) so the stand can couple onto it. You can buy it off me at less than retail if you are interested. It is just wasting space in my garage. I think I bought it for $135 new.

If your single garage is long enough to park bike and cage like that, then I'd say is should be wide enough for your bike to be parked beside the cage. Sure, it means everybody out before parking in the garage, and only being able to park your cage in one direction (usually backwards) with 5cm clearance on passenger side so you the driver could get out near the bike. Have a measure because that's how I parked for ages before getting a place with a double garage.

Are you planning not to use your bike very often?? Otherwise, the better option would be to park the bike at the front of the garage.

I don't know if that would help me? I've put a picture that hopefully explains what i need to do.

The garage is really narrow, you wouldn't be able to park a mountain bike next to the car door and still get out. I don't know how often i will use the bike compared to car.

We are moving but need to sort this out temporarily.

The car needs to go in the garage too, it's a nice car that thieves like to play with

Ventura make bike stands and lifts etc, you'll have to look in yellow pages for their details tho.
If this is a temporary thing are you sure you want to spend squillions of dollars on a stand that allows you to wheel the bike around off the ground (which is what I assume you are after)?
Given your description of the garage, I don't see a good solution other than parking the bike inside the house (may not be as silly as it sounds) but there are obvious problems with overcoming resistance from the other occupants.

Of course the bloke solution is to stuff the front wheel in the corner, nail it in first to break traction, them slide it up against the back wall. Getting it out is slightly more complicated.......

I'll look for ventura :) I thought this would be a very simple thing and there would be some sort of clamp for the back wheel or something to let me at least slide the rear around once the front wheel is up in the corner. Had no idea it would be an expensive thing.

I see a good solution as parking the bike sideways by the wall, much better than telling Mrs Templar we're taking up residence in the lounge!

Kerry at Motohaus uses one of those....
In fact he lifted my bike up on it last week..... doing a oil change.

Yep, my cars have been outside cause there has been up to 4 bikes in the garage at times....:scooter:

Easier to make a ramp and park the bike inside, if it's a trumpy put a drip tray under it.

Kiwi Rider has adds in it for bike stands, there is one you can lift the bike and wheel it around, no good for sport bikes though, its not hard to adapt something that would do. I do what others have sujested park the car outside, you got get your priorities right.:done:
