I need to get to Tauranga either tomorrow (Thursday 5th April) or on the Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Is anyone traveling from Wellington that could give me a lift?

Cheers

Ooo Kendog, you can tell us ya know! :bleh:
Did you buy yourself a GSXR750 after all? You know the rules - pics or it didn't happen! Did you end up test riding the 07 CBR600? I'm gathering you didn't buy one of those if you're heading to Tauranga... but still, if you did ride it, what'd you think of it? Good luck with getting yourself a lift!

Kendog
4th April 2007, 21:17
Couldn't get an 07 CBR600 to test at the moment unfortunately.

Pinched from another Kendog thread:

That was the Wellington motorcycles bikes done and I was a happy camper, still comfortable with the bike I have. But then I had a chat to LBTW and he kindly agreed to let me take his bike for a spin.

Suzuki GSXR750
First impression; The bike seat height is pretty low and the body position is far less aggressive than the 675.
The ride; Like the 675 the engine is smooth and likes to be revved. Then I got to the corners. Oh my god, have I been converted? Is it possible I like Suzuki's? This bike felt perfect to me. Smooth engine and gearbox along with great body position made the corners come alive. 'Is this what I have been missing?' I was thinking to myself. Got to the turn around point and had the big grin going. Off we went back to the function and with the only bad bit being this ride had ended. That bike is a really great ride.
Overall; I had so much fun in that 10 minute ride, that it is making me think about trading the trusty Hornet

I would say thanks to LBTW too, but because of him I am probably going to have to spend some money :weep: But I still love my Hornet.

I think we have a winner ;)

The 750 hey. Great choice Kendog. One of the bikes that keeps coming up in my shortlist whenever I think about changing bikes.

LOL, nah, I'm keeping my baby, but I did encourage him just a little as I figure I'll be able to ride it too and that will help me keep my bike longer. Especially when we take long trips and his arse is sore after two hours and I'm fine!! (Although it was discussed that we would then bike swap for a bit so we both end up with sore arses!)

I was thinking 2/33 to Rotorua, 30/32 round the back of Lake Taupo to Turangi, 47/4 to Wanganui, 3/1 to Wellington.

But I am open to suggestions.

Sounds good, what about instead of heading down 33 to rotorua, we head through pyes pa road (36)

( see the attachment )

just an idea. :scooter:

Thanks everyone who met up with my baby and made sure he got his butt out of the Bay!! He just called me from Turangi (eating a pie, his 5th I'm sure! ewwww), he is one very happy boy with a little bit of a sore bum, but having a ton of fun on the new bike. I'm sure he'll post his ride report when he gets home and stops dribbling on the bike!

Dammit Kendog, I had my eye on that for about a month.

Finally got BC to get back in touch with me but was told "no sorry, that was sold this morning" :bye:

You lucky bastard. That was the best priced 750k7 in the country.

Oh well, I have to look at a 675 now.
