View Full Version : Sigh, looks like I'm cage bound...

Due to financial issues, it looks like I am going to be shedding a bike, and becoming cage bound.

Short of a wad of cash falling from a passing inter-bank transfer helicopter, or a winning Lotto ticket being tucked in my pocket, Rosey may be looking for a new home, and my cage will be the centre of my attention for some time.

Though if I manage to get enough for Rosey, I could possibly look at paying off a debt, and stepping into something a bit less flashy...

Fuck.

Sorry, crying wife, screaming kids, and losing a bike... what a great day.

 Sorry to hear that mate, good thing I hung onto Daisy for you huh? Any time you need to blat blat around, gimme a call!

Don't worry, with every high there is a low, for every low another high! I think it's the curse of Daisy... she always spoke to me about how she was your significant other!

Heh... appreciate that mate.

Also appreciate the fine brews you brought over - twas a fine drop, and just what the highly questionable doctor ordered for the soothing of ones soul.

Donor, sorry to hear about that mate. I know what it's like to be in a financial crisis, so I know how you feel. But stay positive... at the end of the day, money can't buy a good wife and children (despite what the Russians think). Forget about money for the time being and be with them, sounds as though they need you! You'll work your way out of the hole mate, just takes some planning and maybe a couple of sacrafices. It's not easy, but it's satisfying when you know you're making progress.

And you've always got us too. :grouphug:

Cheers all, appreciate the kind words and thoughts...

Got a couple of prospects on the go at the moment, so it may be swift. Probably for the best so I don't dwell on it, or run away with Rosey and hide somewhere the boogie man dont find me...

Fingers crossed...

Mrs D thinks we may be able to put a rescue plan together - I am working Good Friday and Easter Monday at triple time, as well as ANZAC Day.

Also, I am waiting to hear if I land a new job, and if I do, I will have a few weeks of holiday pay cashed out.

So, all going well, Rosey may remain in her garage of love...

...God loves bikers...

Yay!! Still haven't been able to meet the kind previous owner of Daisy. Hopefully one day I'll meet Rosey on some KB ride.

Don't you hate money? Grr. I do. Wish I lived in East Germany so I didn't have to worry about it, and I could ride a Trabant motorcycle to work everyday :D

No offence, but i am in the exact same situation but you dont see me having a cry about it.

I've had to get rid of my R6 which i would think is some what more fun to ride than a ZZR (hey no offence here either, i love 250's)... sold if for $5k, $2k of that is going towards a new engine for it.

I've ridden at every oppurtunity for the last 4-5 years and will continue to do so, but i dont have a cry when i can't ride.

Truth is, lane splitting save a lot of times, but i dont entirely miss it - i dont particularly like sitting in traffic though.

Group rides are good fun, but having a hack on a twisty road in my little 1986 1.6L Toyota Corolla is nearly as fun as having a hack on an average 250 like your ZZR.

All i can say is make the most of it, enjoy whatever car you end up stuck in, and pay your debts off ASAP so you can get back on a bike sooner rather than later. I would also suggest not riding new model sportsbikes as they have a tendency to tickle your soul and persuade you to take on more debt!

oh, and WTF is up with you people naming your bikes? They are machines, not animals/people.

It's nice that you are managing to deal with things in your own way - good for you!

Posting here is an outlet, and I chose to do that - free world and all that crap...

It's nice that you have been able to get out and about on 2 wheels as much as ou can over 4-5 years. I've had my licence less than 6 months, so it IS a big deal to me that a new found love in life may be taken from me on a long term basis.

I too enjoy caning my Sentra round the place from time to time - more so when it's raining horizontally and the seagulls are flying backwards.

End of the day mate, different people, different lives, and different ways of handling things.

This is how I handle mine from time to time.

...as for naming the bike, my first (Daisy) was named before I was GIVEN her, and the name was a condition. Since then, I have found giving the machine you trust to keep you upright and in motion, creates a bit of a bond between the two of you, and makes you a bit more sensitive to things like performance, handling, and that delighful stutter you get when you realise that you haven't put gas in for a while.

So yeah... that about covers it :D

Well, it looks like I get to keep Rosey.

I start my new job early next month, so combined with the rather large hours (160 hours this fortnight) and the almost 3 weeks of holiday pay I will have cashed out, the finances are looking pretty good.

It will at least get the monster off my back long enough for me to get a head start on killing the bugger.

Many thanks to all those who offered kind words, it has meant a lot.

...I think a small celebration pootle tomorrow or Tuesday may be in order!

Woot - glad to hear you probably will be keeping Rosey. I bet a big tear would have been shed if you'd had to part with your beauty.

It is a tough world indeed... money makes the world go round but also seems to stop it for you when you need it most...

...im sure if things were "really bad" a fellow KB'er would have 'put it in their name' for you... "oh you want to re-posess my bike? ...sorry its not mine" hehehe works a treat ;)

Good luck!
