Due to financial issues, it looks like I am going to be shedding a bike, and becoming cage bound.

Short of a wad of cash falling from a passing inter-bank transfer helicopter, or a winning Lotto ticket being tucked in my pocket, Rosey may be looking for a new home, and my cage will be the centre of my attention for some time.

Though if I manage to get enough for Rosey, I could possibly look at paying off a debt, and stepping into something a bit less flashy...

Donor, sorry to hear about that mate. I know what it's like to be in a financial crisis, so I know how you feel. But stay positive... at the end of the day, money can't buy a good wife and children (despite what the Russians think). Forget about money for the time being and be with them, sounds as though they need you! You'll work your way out of the hole mate, just takes some planning and maybe a couple of sacrafices. It's not easy, but it's satisfying when you know you're making progress.

Mrs D thinks we may be able to put a rescue plan together - I am working Good Friday and Easter Monday at triple time, as well as ANZAC Day.

Also, I am waiting to hear if I land a new job, and if I do, I will have a few weeks of holiday pay cashed out.

Don't you hate money? Grr. I do. Wish I lived in East Germany so I didn't have to worry about it, and I could ride a Trabant motorcycle to work everyday :D

No offence, but i am in the exact same situation but you dont see me having a cry about it.

I've had to get rid of my R6 which i would think is some what more fun to ride than a ZZR (hey no offence here either, i love 250's)... sold if for $5k, $2k of that is going towards a new engine for it.

I've ridden at every oppurtunity for the last 4-5 years and will continue to do so, but i dont have a cry when i can't ride.

Truth is, lane splitting save a lot of times, but i dont entirely miss it - i dont particularly like sitting in traffic though.

Group rides are good fun, but having a hack on a twisty road in my little 1986 1.6L Toyota Corolla is nearly as fun as having a hack on an average 250 like your ZZR.

All i can say is make the most of it, enjoy whatever car you end up stuck in, and pay your debts off ASAP so you can get back on a bike sooner rather than later. I would also suggest not riding new model sportsbikes as they have a tendency to tickle your soul and persuade you to take on more debt!

oh, and WTF is up with you people naming your bikes? They are machines, not animals/people.

all the best with the plans..I really admire people who are honest and dignified enough to swallow their pride.Hell I had to after my bin..still not in a good position but at least Ive got two wheels and am in the saddle..was gunna sell her at one stage but my son talked me outof it by reasuuring me that we will survive!!the bike is a lifestyle choice for me..all the wonderful people and places which come along so I know how much of a hard decision it would be for you...all the best and I take my hat off to you.:rockon:

Well, it looks like I get to keep Rosey.

I start my new job early next month, so combined with the rather large hours (160 hours this fortnight) and the almost 3 weeks of holiday pay I will have cashed out, the finances are looking pretty good.

It will at least get the monster off my back long enough for me to get a head start on killing the bugger.
